Re: Alvechurch Updates
The typical game of two halves!
Alvechurch never gave us a moment's worry in the first 45. 2 up and coasting.
Our halftime cuppa was probably laced with bromide as we we came out incapable of standing strong against a fired up opposition.
Wynter's sending off truly exposed our lack of physical presence. This is a problem throughout the squad - except for man mountain Ceesay.
KD missed the easiest of chances by trying to smash the ball home when a simple tap in would have sufficed.
That's not a criticism of his fantastic work effort and desire to score. Without him, this season, we'd be struggling. Just my viewpoint.
IF we were to be promoted (not this season in my opinion) then we would be blown away, physically, by the teams we would come up against. This would have to be addressed as a priority.
I can't recall any team that I've seen at The Grove which had an equal or lesser squad stature than us.
I do fear for our ability to survive the Sh*bridge and Kettering games without our top central defender.
Hopefully RP can get someone in to stem the tide!

To those who've not been to many / any National North games give it a go, you'll be somewhat surprised by how much more football is played compared to the notion of they'm all lumps........

Found that interesting though. IF, and no way we're ready, we did go up, squad and finances need to be improved. I dont think Rushall have our level of fanbase, but even so. Big clubs up there too.

Re: Alvechurch Updates
Should really have seen that game out 4-2, it's so frustrating.
Lost count how many sending offs this season. More so playing large parts of games with 10 puts pressure on the others to avoid second yellows etc
Our game management is comical and so are some of those
set -pieces. One corner MiniMac played short to Connor who gave it straight back and Mini was offside
At least the boys are creating lots of chances and we're not a dirty side (as the number of cards suggest) but we desperately need a defensive coach, a set piece coach and an away analysist for next season
Two questions,
How many sending offs this season so far and who?
And have there been any opposition red cards home or away?
Finally, no doom and gloom here, I'd be quite happy with another season in this league. Lots happening off the pitch, a brilliant owner and board, try and progress in the right direction rather than struggle in NLN.
Up the Yeltz always.

Re: Alvechurch Updates
Been to quite a few - even this season. Even the poorer sides have some very decent footballers. And it's far from 'lump it' football. That sort of thing tends to take place from our level down and particularly where the pitches are poorHalesowenHarry wrote: ↑16 Feb 2025, 09:56To those who've not been to many / any National North games give it a go, you'll be somewhat surprised by how much more football is played compared to the notion of they'm all lumps........
