Re: Alvechurch Updates
It's a 1 game ban for a professional foul / stopping a goalscoring opportunity. Not sure if the previous red card comes into play to add another game as well though

Aah, that's what I thought. Next week's omission is massive but hopefully then, only that one.HalesowenHarry wrote: ↑15 Feb 2025, 17:52It's a 1 game ban for a professional foul / stopping a goalscoring opportunity. Not sure if the previous red card comes into play to add another game as well though

Re: Alvechurch Updates
According to thefa.com
"A player will receive an additional one game suspension on top of the automatic suspension for every additional red card received". Presumably that will mean 2 games, ruling him out of Kettering aswell as Stourbr*dge

Re: Alvechurch Updates
Southern League Premier Central – Saturday, 15th February 2025
Halesowen Town 2 Alvechurch 2
Halesowen raced into a two goal halftime lead but could only share the points after Alvechurch turned the game around in a ten-minute spell early in the second-half, writes DJ.
Improving Alvechurch, with four wins from last five league games, faced a Halesowen team who were looking to continue their impressive home record of eight wins from the last nine.
Immediately after the game, manager Russ Penn summarised a barnstorming game and thought his team had a “fantastic first half, in complete control, I was delighted. But ten minutes of madness swings the game – how many times have I said that this year? Then our energy levels in the last half hour were fantastic.” All in all, after the damaging ten minute spell, Penn was “delighted with the 80 minutes in-between, I’m pleased with the point.”
It was a productive first half for the Yeltz as they raced into a deserved two-goal lead. Alvechurch’s Joseph Willis’s 22 yard free-kick was collected by home goalkeeper Dan Platt in the 5th minute but the first-half belonged to Halesowen from that point on.
Connor Tee earned a 13th minute corner and Kieren Donnelly fired over the bar after latching onto a ball over his shoulder three minutes later. Ryan Wollacott then headed the ball back for Donnelly to be just blocked out in front of goal in the 19th minute.
The early pressure soon led to the Yeltz taking a 20th minute lead when TEE shook off his defender to smash into the net from eight yards out.
McKauley Manning’s 24th minute shot from the left wing was then turned away by Church goalkeeper Ronnie Hollingshead and Donnelly forced another corner a minute later. Reece Flanagan - returning to the starting line-up following a long injury - saw his 27th minute shot turned away for a corner before Halesowen doubled their lead.
DONNELLY made it 2-0 in the 30th minute with a great glancing header from Tee’s left wing cross for his 21st goal of the season.
The game flipped at the start of the second half as Alvechurch mounted an unexpected fight-back. The Church pulled a 51st minute goal back out of nowhere after Halesowen’s Josh Smile slipped allowing Dan SWEENEY to lob goalkeeper Platt from 22 yards out and the ball crept agonisingly over Platt’s fingertips to land into the net.
The Yeltz were then reduced to ten men just four minutes later when Joseph Willis played a forward ball and Dylan Allen-Hadley was brought down by Ryan Wynter as he accelerated past the home captain with Wynter receiving an inevitable straight red card.
With the wind in Alvechurch’s sails and the Yeltz missing a central defender, a 61st minute equaliser soon followed when captain Krystian PEARCE planted home a free header from substitute Bradley Stretton’s cross from a corner.
But Halesowen regrouped to create two good chances for Donnelly to still win the exhilarating contest. Donnelly sidestepped his last defender and took his time but then smashed against the crossbar in front of goal in the 66th minute. Wollacott then did well to head an 82nd minute free-kick back across goal, only for Donnelly to be denied on the line in a goalmouth scramble.
The draw means that Halesowen slip out of the playoff places ahead of next Saturday’s local derby against Stourbr*dge.

Re: Alvechurch Updates
Lets hope Russ can make a quick signing like he did for wynter's last suspension as now Kelly has gone we are severely short of height in the squad to fill.

Re: Alvechurch Updates
Yet another strange day. As comfortable as we've been in probably any game this season in the first half, to looking like we'd thrown it away, and then missing some gilt edged chances to win it.
I still don't know if we're any good.
