It does really make you wonder how other clubs manage to survive in this league.
2 teams average less than 100 per week. A further 8 less than 200, Spalding 240 and the mighty Stamford 416!!

We are now just into 4 figures at 1002 with Corby next best at 547.

The money this should be generating should enable us to entice players at a much better level than the rest.

This is no way a dig at our owners, management or current players, just a laymans observations on the level we are playing at.
Notice Stourbr*dge were at home yesterday and only had 521. Infact Ilkeston are the highest supported team with just 668

The Hinckley number is a surprise. The Judean Peoples Front style history of football clubs in that bit of Leics is enough to make your brain bleed, but at one stage they were supporting three teams, with one in the Conf North.
From what I can tell now, there's only this mob and an AFC who play in Dudley Town's league - W Mids Div One - and get crowds of 150-200.
Cambridge City used to get more at their old ground too, at least in my mind's eye.

Just on the basis of attendances, we'd be competitive in Conference North. And when you look at some of the teams in it (and Conference South) - Banbury, Brackley, Hemel Hempstead, Chippenham, Oxford City to name a few - it's galling to be where we are.

Indeed! Our home average is higher than half of the teams in the National League North and more than 19(!) of the 24 teams in the South division. We are not far off Boreham Wood , Gateshead and Solihull in the National League and attendances would be well above such teams if we were in their divisions.

I know a good supporter base doesn't necessarily bring you success but with such a huge differential, it really should make some difference at Step 4.

My favourite average attendance at Step 4 this season is FC Romania with 38, which would basically be family and a few friends.

I must admit I do love playing Chasetown. They’re a bloody good side and yesterday was a real battle with tackles flying in everywhere and plenty of argy bargy. That said, it feels like there’s a good mutual respect between both sides and it was all handshakes at the final whistle. Great advert for non-league.

Cambridge City did used to get a lot bigger crowds when I lived there, but I’m going to guess that was in the Southern Premier/pre-Conference North and South days, so was at a LOT higher level.

Also the ground was pretty central and easy to get to, rather than all the way out at Histon

Have to agree with all the comments about us needing to get up this season. This league is levels below where we have been historically over the last 30-odd years, and even more so with the upswing of crowds and sensible ownership we have now.

I was also looking through the Step 4 leagues, and there is a fantastically named team called New Salamis in the Isthmian North

Looking at their recent results they are not the WURST side in that league!
