Re: Worcester Updates
Once again posts that are predicting doom and gloom before a ball is kicked in anger.
What the hell is the matter with some people?

Re: Worcester Updates
Karen Brookes seems a breath of fresh air. The ground and pitch seem to be looking better than many a year. Not a criticism on past recent efforts but just an observation. True we don't know Lynch is not anyway involved but more has happened in the last 3 weeks than the last 3 years. If Hill doesn't deliver in the first 2 to 3 months then it'll be entirely his fault and he will know that I'm certain.
Remembering the only time the club was last run properly, he was backed and we won the league. Certain folk on social media are an embarassment to Halesowen Town not martyrs that some people have seemingly made them into. This is my 27th year of watching and it's looking a lot better than the past 3 preseasons. Look at the preseason of 95-96 or 01-02 and even 13-14. It matters not who we play or those results.

Re: Worcester Updates
I too would like to test ourselves against some better opposition.
I know it's pre-season, but if opposition, performance and results apparently don't matter, then it almost seems pointless playing the games. The players can get fit easily enough anyway.
With just one team going down, unless the team is challenging at the top or being awful at the bottom, the season could turn out to be a long slog of seemingly meaningless matches.

Regardless of Worcesters league i believe they are a good opponent if you go off there squad and management, as well as that, they beat sutton in our league 4-0 recently also market drayton should be a good test as crezza said above, they beat stafford rangers 1-0 on tuesday night. and then spalding from the same league as market drayton, would of been nice to play a team our level or above tho as you say

Re: Worcester Updates
I'm in the same camp as HH and Lutters here. Regardless of your levels of optimism towards the new season, there were mainly positive signs out there yesterday.
Spray got his head on everything, Shearer looks lively and has potential to be a good striker at this level- between them they could easily make a credible partnership. Kelly and Steele are the most attacking set of full backs we've had in a long while. And the players looked willing to play it about a bit, no doubt aided by a hugely improved surface.
I still think we need a few more heads. There looks to be a slight lack of leadership, and so a "marquee" signing for me would be another experienced centre back. I feel we're possibly one short in midfield (I've got a feeling we'll be using a compact/diamond formation as opposed to wingers- hence the wing backs) and one more spare striker (not convinced Agbor is the right man for that job).
Other highlights: a very late sub appearance from a lad who looked to be no older than 14; and the return of the ref (now widely known as Terry) whose style can only be described as "laissez-faire" and who met every decision point with a loud, Black Country "Naaaoowwww, geeerrrroonn with ittttttt". Total legend, and well worth the admin price on his own.

Ooh, I forgot the lad at the end. Must have been on for possibly 30 seconds. I would put him at about 12. Had he won a competition or something?

Good experience for the Academy player.
Don't know why they refuse to give any of the youth team players the same opportunities?
