Massive 3 points.
Nearly safe assuming no points adjustments.
Happy days!

Re: Hednesford Updates
It makes me wonder why we can produce top performances away and very mediocre ones at home.
Is it because of us, the fans, who give out an atmosphere of not being fully behind the team ?
Does the feeling of apathy transfer to the players?
Any thoughts?

You might be right there lutters, the noise from the Yeltz fans was terrific tonight.lutleyyeltz wrote: ↑05 Apr 2017, 22:17It makes me wonder why we can produce top performances away and very mediocre ones at home.

Re: Hednesford Updates
Fantastic performance from the lads tonight and a much needed 3pts that I think should see us all but safe obviously pending any possible points deductions - but that of course is out of our hands and the players did what they had to do and put in a great shift.
Hednesford looked a bit leggy from 2 games in 3 days however it would be wrong to discourage what was a terrific performance from us as we started really brightly the first half and showed great determination to get the winner towards the end particularly after conceding the equaliser just before half time.
It would be wrong to single out one particular player as man of the match however I think a mention is worthy for Diop as I think he looked a handful for us up front, his physicality and hold up play caused problems for their defence and I thought Andre Johnson was superb when he came on as a second half sub.
Lutley is right - how can we put in a performance like this away tonight which has followed two relatively poor performances at home. If we played like tonight all the time there would be no issues with relegation - but that's football I guess.

I only get to see mostly away games (and we've usually played OK when I see us), but surely the pitch has a big effect?lutleyyeltz wrote: ↑05 Apr 2017, 22:17It makes me wonder why we can produce top performances away and very mediocre ones at home.

Just from watching Yeltz TV, the pitch at The Grove seems by far the worst, and looks pretty impossible to play decent football on.
Be interested to hear what more regular watchers think

I'm packing a new hammer to give you at Blyth on Saturday as yours must have worn out from hitting nails on the headPoll wrote: ↑06 Apr 2017, 07:59I only get to see mostly away games (and we've usually played OK when I see us), but surely the p*t*h has a big effect?

I've said it before - maybe the p*t*h determines the style of play.

Re: Hednesford Updates
Whilst the pitch isn't great, it can't really be used to excuse the dire performances we have regularly witnessed. I've seen lots of away teams play perfectly well on it over the last few years. And I've also seen enough Halesowen away games on better pitches where they have also put in dreadful performances similar to what we see at the Grove. So the pitch thing is a bit of a myth.

The important word in my post was: MAYBE!
I do not offer it as an excuse, just a possible reason.
