I heard the referee getting stick from certain sections of the crowd last night, but I'm not entirely sure what he really did wrong other than enough time being added. Maybe if our coaching staff actually coached and encouraged the players (like the Marine pair did), instead of just berating the referee, we might begin to get somewhere. The difference in the body language and the attitudes of the two sets of coaches was massive. It's hardly the referees fault that our players don't seem to know what they are doing, that its tactically a mess, or that one of our midfielders in particular can't pass the ball to one of his own teammates and only seems capable of fouling and hurling lots of foul language at others.

There's always an excuse and certain sections of our support have allowed it to manifest. It's a major reason why we are in the mess we are in now. 'It's the referee, we don't have a budget, no you are wrong-we are one of the fittest clubs in the league, the players have left'. Yes they might have left, but at any other club if so many players had left you'd be asking 'do they want to play for the manager?' Of course it's not totally his fault, there will be other factors, but in some cases some of it might be his responsibility too. You can't always just assume it's not. We get a skilful player occasionally but they don't fit into the managers style of play, so if the player leaves who is responsible? Well I'd much rather watch the skilful player who might do something instead of what we've put up with for however long it's been. Would you want to play in this side? It's always, 'you're wrong, we are right'. But the evidence of what I saw last night and have done on many occasions suggests otherwise.

The apathy last night was very noticeable from a large majority of the fans

Taking a diplomatic stance with regard to last night's debacle - it was abysmal!
The rumour circulating last night was that Kyle Morrison had been involved in a road accident and was in hospital. I was also informed that Lee Chilton had suffered an accident at work and was also in hospital.
If this be true my wishes for a speedy recovery to both of them.
Cameron Steele was on the bench due to driving to Frickley - where he thought we were playing!

Of course, if the above is true I wish both players concerned a speedy recovery. That goes without saying.

However, last nights display has become the norm rather than the exception. If it was a one off you could use it as a reason for the dismal display. No it doesn't help missing players, but it shouldn't excuse the shocking 'performance' if you can call it that, that we saw last night. It doesn't excuse the lack of tactics or the inability of any of the players to actually do something, or look like they've been coached into some cohesive unit. There are only so many times excuses can be used, and maybe if so many other excuses hadn't been used in the past when they shouldn't have been, the genuine ones would have more resonance

I'm glad the wrong ground player has been named and shamed. As if he drove to Frickley?!?

Kyle Morrison was in the bar at half time so seems like he might be OK.

I believe the 2 accidents mentions were the other way round.

Do you think that the management team might encourage and coach from the touchline on saturday ? With many new players I would expect vocal encouragement on saturday

Kyle Morrison had a gas boiler fall on and around his ankle.
Lee Chilton had an accident involving a forklift truck.

Both work accidents. And for once not the clubs fault. Bad luck for both players and club alike. Let's hope they're both back for the must win on Saturday.

As an aside, Hednesford play Saturday, Monday then (us) Wednesday next week, so I guess you'd look at that one as point(s) potential.
