Re: Nantwich Replay
Gutted.
The players put 100% in and can't fault their efforts. Melvin, Anderson, Platt and Goddard all put excellent performances in.
But no one can deny that's a massive chance gone begging and personally I can't help feel we didn't do all we can to win that one.
One shot on target (an exceptional flick and goal by Anderson) and that was it. Is that good enough in a game of this magnitude?
Why did it take so long to change things when 2-0? Anderson and Delaney are very effective together.
Very frustrating and just can't help but feel it should have been so much more.
I'm once again looking at the starting line up, tactics and substitution (in this instance the timing of) and left scratching my head.

Alluded to by Raiden, Rob and the commentator, that Kaiman was wasted up front alone again.

Seems apparent from comments of BCR, Rob and Raiden, that Hill started with one up front again . So the ball kept coming back to our defence again who can only hold out for so long. Did n't the manager learn anything from Saturday ? Unbelievably - Time for him to go. I'm fed up with his totally negative approach.

Let's not forget that Nantwich haven't won at home all season. Until tonight.KenR wrote:Seems apparent from comments of BCR, Rob and Raiden, that Hill started with one up front again . Re: Nantwich Replay
I'm gutted too. But first up- Nantwich are a very decent side with plenty of quality, and that's plain to see.
I can also understand the lineup and formation to begin the game. We were set up to be solid, and to try and create when we could. Goddard was back in the team and he makes an enormous difference. 2-0 was an unfair reflection at the break.
But the substitution took too long. We should have gambled at half time, but instead we wasted 15 minutes still trying patiently to break them down.
It was a tie decided on fine margins. Massively disappointing, but that's the way it goes.

So are we. We have some excellent players. It's just a shame we are currently playing square pegs in round holes and are setting up far too negatively.piearce9 wrote:I'm gutted too. But first up- Nantwich are a very decent side with plenty of quality, and that's plain to see.

It seems like we've all seen it for a long time. I just don't understand it at all.
