Re: Telford Updates
Decent game. Fair result. Unlikely to finish anything but 4th now IMO so probably off to Telford in the play offs. Shame we haven't got a reserve side to throw out at Stamford to keep everyone from any injuries or cautions now.

If Cameron had started alongside KD, we'd have won that.

Re: Telford Updates
Southern League Premier Central – Monday, 21st April 2025
Halesowen Town 1 AFC Telford United 1
Halesowen deservedly came from a goal behind with an equaliser from leading scorer Kieren Donnelly to retain fourth spot against third-place Telford, writes DJ.
Both sides were realistically only jostling for play-off positions and by the final whistle any lingering hopes of the title had evaporated with the draw also meaning an inevitable meeting again next week. The draw kept Halesowen’s run of 12 games unbeaten intact as well as Telford’s long unbeaten run of 15 games.
Yeltz manager Russ Penn was upbeat. “It was good advert for the league, I thought two good teams coming together. I thought we deserved to win. We need to be a little more aggressive as I thought they were there for the taking today. It was a really good performance. We go to Stamford to win.”
In the first action, Todd Parker’s low shot was collected by Telford goalkeeper Brandon Hall after four minutes. The Bucks then missed a golden 17th minute chance when Jordan Cranston’s cross was rifled just wide on the volley by Ellis Brown.
Telford took the lead in the 20th minute when Dylan ALLEN-HADLEY back-heeled home from close range as play was worked forward from a free-kick and the ball across goal wasn’t cleared by the Yeltz defence.
The visitors then made it difficult for Halesowen to produce any clear-cut chances for the rest of the first half, although Conor Tee struck a 31st minute free-kick into the side-netting from the edge of the penalty area. Towards the interval Josh Smile’s shot was blocked in a crowded goalmouth and Parker almost met Donnelly’s header in the 44th minute.
The Yeltz started the second half with all guns blazing in a great response and a vital equaliser soon ensued following a 47th minute corner after Tee was blocked. McKauley Manning recycled the ball and whipped in a great cross from the right allowing DONNELLY to rise highest and deftly head home off the inside of the post. With Halesowen dominating and forcing two 50th minute corners, goalkeeper Hall grabbed the ball off Ryan Wollacott’s head and Ben Cassidy cut in to fire high in the 57th minute at the end of a flowing move after Josh Smile hit a cross field pass to Manning and he in turn found Cassidy.
Midway through the half James Armson’s header was turned away by Milan Butterfield and Telford had the ball in the net a minute later, but the whistle had already blown for a handball.
Clear chances were fewer late on, although Telford needed bodies behind the ball in the 74th minute to deny Tee on the break. Following a series of substitutions, Telford had the last word as substitute Rhys Hilton shot straight at goalkeeper Dan Platt and Armson played a good stoppage time ball for substitute Byron Moore to balloon over the bar.
Halesowen Town: Dan Platt; Ben Cassidy, Reece Mitchell, Josh Smile, Ryan Wynter (c), Ryan Wollacott, Todd Parker (Jack Birch (90+4), Conor Tee (Charles Wragg 90), Kieren Donnelly (Alex Cameron 83), Kacy Butterfield (Reece Flanagan 88), McKauley Manning (Jak Hickman 88). Subs Not Used: None.
AFC Telford United: Brandon Hall; Jahdhan Fridye-Harper, Jordan Cranston, Jordan Piggott, Oliver Cawthorne-Bandres, Dylan Allen-Hadley (Byron Moore 90), Luke Rowe (c), James Armson, Matthew Stenson (Sam Whittall 90+4), Ellis Brown (Harry Hawkins 68), Remi Walker (Rhys Hilton 68). Sub Not Used: Ellis Myles-Tebbutt.

Re: Telford Updates
I thought we played with a lot of professionaliam today. To a man they all put a shift in. I was worried the subs would throw us out our stride, but I guess he's resting players a bit. Thought Smile was superb today in particular, but then so were several others. Draw was a fair result.

Re: Telford Updates
Great advert for non league especially when you consider 22 part timers playing 48 and 72 hours apart

Re: Telford Updates
Strange game really, very enjoyable but when thinking back no saves at all for either keeper to make. Defenses certainly on top.
Thought Wynter was immense today but to a man put in a shift.
Looks like we will play each other in play offs and think it will go down to a mistake or magic moment to split these 2
