Full time Halesowen Town 3 Wimborne Town 0, good win a bit spoilt by the refs inconsistency, but another clean sheet and Haseley was rightly man of the match

Great attacking play against a poor Wimborne side, although I still have palpitations as regards our defence - not picking on anyone in particular, but our No. 4 is poor!
Haseley is top drawer and Marcus Jackson improved dramatically in the second half. The other Jackson (Nathan) ran from box to box and was wisely taken off, as the signs were that he'd get an early bath as he seemed to be the prime subject of the ref's inability to see what was actually going on! Some of Wimborne's tackling was rough - to say the least!
A good performance and, hopefully, the first three points of nine available in the next 10 days.

So, another clean sheet, 3 goals including 2 more for Ben Haseley (looking a very astute signing) and no red cards (despite the referee's best efforts).

Really enjoyed the game today, we were positive and the new players look to have settled in well, special mention to Marcus Jackson who looks lively and gave the Wimbourne left back a rough afternoon. Also the rest of the midfield looked solid. At the back Smithy wasn't having one of his better games until his goal but all in all it was good fare. The team really looked like they were playing for each other again.

As for the referee, he made a rod for his own back within the first 5 mins and if he had let a little more go early on, he wouldn't have almost caused a brawl in the 2nd half when Nathan Jackson was booked after letting a two-footed, late and high challenge against us go.

Maybe the fortnight of bad weather has done us a favour, certainly looks like it from my point of view.

A huge well done to the team, and that is the big difference, we look like a TEAM, Shaun's patience is paying off with the addition of some quality players replacing the loose cannons. Stability off field usually shows in results on it, although it takes time and the die hards who have suffered through thin and thinner will get their reward, all we need now is the stay away fans to start coming through the turnstiles, then we can really start to push the club forward ;)

Yes I pretty much agree with all what has been said - including the well timed and tactical substitutions by Shaun. I thought Arshad should of scored near the end

One thing I must comment on is Mcgrath - he seemed to throw his dummy out of his pram when we made our 3rd sub as he marched off to the dressing room having not been given a game.
I for one will not be sad if we do not see him again if this was his attitude - perhaps he was not happy how we managed to keep 11 players on the pitch again or that he could not try for his hat trick of sendings off this season?

An interesting member of the Wimbourne line-up yesterday was ex-Yeltz Nathan Peprah-Annan.
Nathan was one of the 60+ players "persuaded" by MM to turn out for us towards the end of that depressing 2008/09 season and played just the 1 game having travelled up from the South Coast area:
14/02/2009 GLOUCESTER H 434 1 2
BUSSEY PEPRAH-ANNAN HAMILTON CANOVILLE PEARCE LINDHOLM
CORNWALL CASKEY SHITTU ROWE BLACK-NGODY
subs: ALLWARD PAUL C MURRAY GOUVEIA

I thought I recognised that name when I saw the team sheet yesterday.
