Re: Farsley Updates
Outclassed by a better team in the first half. The two half time substitutions though threatened to turn the game on its head. Agbor really does look a handful. Farsley though seemed to be seeing the game out comfortably before Agbor scored a beauty. If only he layed the ball back to either of our onrushing players in the last minute, instead of trying an overhead kick we may well have snatched a point. All in all a decent second half but we need to start 45 minutes earlier on Tuesday!

Re: Farsley Updates
A total different game from Tuesday. First half was poor strikers inability to hold the ball up which rightfully ended up with shearer being taken off and out inability to defend was there for all to see. Second half much much better I thought. Agbor looks sharp when he came on and like to see him and spray with Goddard's passing and vision think that would be a real partnership. Impressed with goddard again today but at times left on his own. Chilton did well when he came on very direct. But I feel a big opportunity was missed for 3 points today. Now makes Tuesday a huge game already.
What I may add we are first to criticise hill and Clarke but they recognised what we needed and made changes quickly. So strangely but they need to be applauded. Last year i feel they would have left it til last 20.

Re: Farsley Updates
Halesowen Town 1 Farsley Celtic 2
Halesowen gave themselves an uphill task as Farsley maintained their unbeaten record by hitting two first-half goals within quick succession.
In early exchanges Jack Kelly’s 2nd minute cross was just inches too high for Luke Shearer but it was Farsley’s Nathan Cartnman who side-stepped the last home defender to shoot just wide from the edge of the area after 5 minutes. Chris Atkinson then lofted the first corner of the game onto the top of the home net after 10 minutes.
There were few clear chances midway through the first half, although Kurt Harris nodded away Jack Alexander’s deep cross and Isaac Baldwin struck a 25-yard free-kick over the bar at the other end. James Walshaw then headed wide from Ben Atkinson’s 21st minute free-kick.
The visitors capitalised on their greater share of possession in the first ever meeting between the clubs by claiming two goals within two minutes. Ben Atkinson supplied the ball down the left of the penalty area for CARTMAN to finish well by curling into the corner of Dan Platt’s net after 29 minutes. Captain WALSHAW then smacked home a low drive after 31 minutes as both Adam Clayton and James Pollard did well after the Yeltz failed to clear a free-kick. Cartman almost added to Halesowen’s misery when he fired just wide in the penalty area after 34 minutes with the home defence lax again.
Halesowen’s best chance of the first period came in the 41st minute when Ben Clarke’s 30 yard shot was tipped over the bar by goalkeeper Graeme McKibben.
The Yeltz made a double substitution at the interval and substitute Roland Agbor posed a host of problems for the Farsley defence with his second-half trickery. After two early home corners, Agbor fired a low shot at McKibben in the 54th minute and McKibben made a fine blocking save to deny Howell in front of goal after Agbor put the ball across goal three minutes later. Agbor caused trouble again by skipping through the visiting defence in the 67th minute, but his shot was saved by McKibben with Baldwin clearing the loose ball off the line.
Halesowen pulled a goal back in the 87th minute and it was inevitably AGBOR who played a great one-two with James Spray before firing a low shot under McKibben. But it was too little, too late and in the 89th minute a fierce shot from Farsley substitute Ryan Watson was turned away for a corner by Platt before Agbor’s injury-time overhead kick was gathered by McKibben.
Halesowen Town: Dan Platt; Jack Alexander, Jack Kelly, Jordan Goddard, Bradley Lewis, Asa Charlton (c), Joseph Howell (Cameron Steele 66), Alexander Woodhouse (Lee Chilton HT), Luke Shearer (Roland Agbor HT), Benjamin Clarke, James Spray. Subs Not Used: Kyle Morrison, Nathan Walker.
Farsley Celtic: Graeme McKibben; Kurt Harris, Isaac Baldwin, Chris Atkinson, James Pollard, Adam Clayton, Adam Priestley (Ryan Watson 65), Ben Atkinson, James Walshaw (c) (Adam Porritt 85), Nathan Cartman (Luke Parkin 78), Paul Walker. Subs Not Used: Richard Marshall, Kyle Trennery.

Re: Farsley Updates
Player ratings from Chris Flavell, Sports Ed. at Halesowen News, who was at yesterday's game. Incidentally, have we ever played against a Pollard before?

Any chance he's related to an all time great of Worcestershire cricket?
