A decent enough run out against not bad opposition, despite their league. Would still have thought it a good idea though to have played against someone from our level or above at some stage. I fear going to Workington on the first day may come as a bit of a shock. Hope I'm wrong. I'm not sure whether there are players away but todays squad seemed sparse with 4 or 5 trialists making up the numbers. With only 2 weeks to go I wonder what additions might be made.
Great refereeing by the way today. An old hand who seemed to know everyone by name and who could have sent a few of them off were he a youngster trying to play it by the rules.

Wait until we play opposition nearer our level like league below Drayton on Tuesday. Only just competing with MFL teams. Another long slog this seasons going to be.

Decent first half performance and and as a whole a decent specticle overall really with 4 goals scored in an evenly matched game.

Worcester are far better than their league status suggests so think they'll be there or there abouts to win their league.

The game sort of went a bit flat and petered out in the second half which I think tends to be the norm in friendlies with substitutions and fitness etc.

Shearer looked pretty impressive, took his goal well and could have had a couple more but he does look more of an assist man than a goalscorer so think that is a position where we look a bit short, defense a bit suspect at times too.

Have to say that the pitch was looking good and perimeter fencing too so well done on that note all concerned. The club looks to be moving in the right direction off the pitch, if we can get it right on the pitch then it should make for a decent season!
