Re: Marine Updates
We wouldn't have scored if we played all night... Having said that how the ref blew up so early is anyones guess he basically added no time on despite all the obvious extras there were
They had one moment of magic and thats all it took, two dire teams

Re: Marine Updates
So, a summary for our far flung comrades.
1st half erm....er....nope
2nd half well struck Marine goal, 2 efforts from outside the box for us and....er....well....nothing.
So after 4 unlikely away points were back in the shit again.

I haven't been able to go for a few weeks but hopes of an improvement were not fulfilled. Yes 2 dire teams indeed.KingEdsYeltz wrote: ↑28 Mar 2017, 21:57We wouldn't have scored if we played all night... There were no shots on target in the first half or any I recall, and precious few in the second half.
I'm not quite sure how they scored when it looked ours to clear; their management team were equally dumbfounded that they had had a shot on target let alone scored.
I can't fault the effort and enthusiasm of the players but any technique and tactics were in very short supply.
I can only assume we will beat Skelmersdale as they have shipped 16 in two home games, which will be just as well.

Re: Marine Updates
How can you hope to win matches when the tactics from the manager refuses to push players up to the edge of the opposition box. Shocking, even with such a lightweight team, we still should have had some attacking nouse against another poor side, but not with our manager. The opportunity was there to put Delaney on along Diop and supply balls to them, but no. Please tell me Diop came off because he was injured. In our management we do not trust.

I thought we were Excellent! Chips and burger sales were good tonight? Surely that means we are on the up, no?!KenR wrote: ↑28 Mar 2017, 22:52How can you hope to win matches when the tactics from the manager refuses to push players up to the edge of the opposition box. Re: Marine Updates
well dalevillain, I take it you are being sarcastic because if you think that one long range effort on target and three corners was excellent, then I think you were watching a completely different game to me and I think you should spend more time in the refreshment container, boosting sales of hot dogs, burgers and chips.

Re: Marine Updates
Hmm, maybe just a hint of sarcasm, however the cafe and shirt sales seems to be the priority of some people and not what happens on the pitch however this is what you have to subject yourself to following Halesowen these days so you have to smile through gritted teeth. However, that is another story and maybe not one for here....KenR wrote: ↑28 Mar 2017, 23:55well dalevillain, I take it you are being sarcastic because if you think that one long range effort on target and three corners was excellent, then I think you were watching a completely different game to me and I think you should spend more time in the refreshment container, boosting sales of hot dogs, burgers and chips.
As for the game,it wasn't pretty tonight in all honesty, and not a good result against a side who for large parts of the game did not seem a great deal better than us and I feel were there for the taking. In the end it was a great strike that won them the game but defensively it was a poor goal to concede as we should have cleared our lines well before.
However as bad as it may seem based on tonight I still think we will just about be OK as a result of what happens ON the pitch come towards the end of the season, however what still may happen OFF it is still a great concern.
Re: Marine Updates
Good toss for Marine to win correctly attacked the Stourbr*dge Road end first half and then had the Yeltz facing a howling storm
in the second. We held them well first half but must learn a bit of guile when playing with the prevailing wind.Route one can be an effective
method and if we had been a couple up at half time we may have drawn the game .Marine won a shade too cosily second half as they found the goal easy to defend for the last 35 minutes, can't fault the ref as even if he added eight extra minutes we would never havescored.
