Re: Stamford Updates
Doesn't it just sum the season up that we missed an opportunity for a home tie.

We haven't seemed particularly bothered about it either. I understand why we've rested players (although I'm struggling a bit with KD not even being on the bench yesterday) and we were about five minutes and a missed penalty away from it being a masterstroke. But we've now got an extremely tough game on Wednesday. We can still win and Penn has won play-offs doing it this way before but a home game would have been so much better.

Re: Stamford Updates
There will be a significantly better following at Telford than there would have been at home. A home game would have brought out the casuals - now there will be 800-1000 people who can actually name all the players. I’m all for new fans coming through the turnstiles - we all have to start somewhere - but let’s not delude ourselves that a full Grove is some sort of fortress.
I’m more of a watcher than a singer, but I know what I’ll be on Wednesday night… and I’d suggest that will apply to lots of others too.

Re: Stamford Updates
Not sure playing it away is a bad thing. Pressure of a big home crowd can get to players. Also we are underdogs now, and underdogs don’t half fightBrightgoldenhaze wrote: ↑27 Apr 2025, 09:54We haven't seemed particularly bothered about it either. Not sure how the allocation of tickets is worked out, but Leamington got an initial allocation of 600 last year.fairweatherfan wrote: ↑27 Apr 2025, 09:58There will be a significantly better following at Telford than there would have been at home. I believe the end holds 1200, so shouldn't be a problem.

Like I said on both occasions , that we might rue the fact that we shut up shop at half time in the home matches against bishops stortford and bigglewade , instead of increasing our goal difference. And so it turns out.

Re: Stamford Updates
Unfortunately I think our goose is cooked now we've missed a home tie. Telford versus Kettering final which is anyone's game. I'm a glass-half-empty kind of guy but I just feel that the final chance was missed to get a home tie. But no matter what happens it's been a wonderful season and my son and I have some great memories which is what it's all about.
