John C, i must say i have agreed with a lot of your more sensible comments recently. Sometimes though, if things go right you have to take a step back from the berating. We all know, you (and others) do not want Sean here and i have no problem with that. On this occasion though maybe leaving that extra forward on allowed us to ultimately go on and win the game. I was very fortunate in the 90's to watch the great Milan side a few times, and with Baresi, Maldini, Costacurta and Pannuci in the back line they could defend a lead and soak up pressure all day long. We are NOT AC Milan. If we deliberately hand the initiative to the opposition by trying to defend a lead we look like frightened rabbits in your headlights. Sticking to a formation and throwing on fresh legs up front gives the opposition something to think about as well. It worked, we won, give it a rest occasionally. Even I can manage that.
