Great stuff!
But why were we playing in yellow? As far as I know, blue and red do not constitute a clash of colours.
Hate that s**t.

I know sometimes in the past it has been the case if we are playing away Saturday and home Tuesday we have used different kits because of getting them washed and ready for the next game so not sure if this circumstance has had anything to do with this.
I know particularly in the main leagues nowadays teams tend to wear their away kit away from home even when there is not a kit clash, they tend to change purely for ‘marketing’ or ‘commercial’ reasons.
I know it’s not our traditional colours and I am a man of traditions myself, but I don’t mind us playing in yellow/black either as I remember us playing in those colours as a first choice during the late 90’s so I am comfortable about this.

I couldn't go as I am in Dublin for the next 5 weeks unfortunately. However, an excellent result, and dare I say it, but..... well done to JH. I saw a tweet he put out post match and it showed a fair bit of humility. Let's hope they can use this, go on a bit of a run and pull away from danger

Just thought I’d add my two pence worth on yesterday’s game:
Overall, fanstatic result and I think probably one that around 90 odd % of us Yeltz fans would never have expected before the the game.
We obviously had the game plan of soaking up the pressure and hitting Stour on the counter attack, which worked a treat as the pace of Udoh up front caused them real problems and both goals were well taken by him, particularly the second.
Of course we sustained a great deal of pressure especially in the second half, which caused a nervy ending when they pressed for the equaliser but both Smith and Asa were solid at the back and of course Platty was superb again with some tremendous saves.
We played some great stuff at times, which was of course pleasing to see without the usual hoof ball but it’s a shame that these type of performances are few and far between. If we played like that all the time we would be towards the top of the league rather than scrapping it out at the bottom.
Of course one great result and performance doesn’t gloss over the long term problems of the club but you could see how much the victory meant to the players at the end of the game so I hope this result can see us go on a run and get the results necesssary to keep us afloat; that I am not entirely confident about but you would like to think we can a least give it a good go.
Fantastic derby though, arguably one the best in non-league football with an incredible attendance of 2,306- good to see that the majority of fans behaved themselves and were in good spirits although disappointing that a few of the younger Stour ‘fans’ or chavs rather, ruined it by chucking a range of items over the segregated fence, in particular a flare that hit a lady and caused burns to her face. I hope she’s ok, seemed to be as she walked out the ground at the end of the day there is no place for that sort of behaviour in football. I hope that when we play them again in a couple of weeks time that there is better security in place as yesterday was shocking and it’s a shame that incident sort of marred what was a great spectacle of a football game.
