Re: Skem
Well if you look around when you're inside the ground it's certainly better than it was 4 or 5 years ago, with the added facilities, I would hardly call that a loser on all fronts. But maybe that's the problem, it's easier to say everything is crap when you're not part of it and just bury your head in the sand. As for my French I really couldn't care less, I get by its certainly good enough for most people to read and understand, I wasn't educated in a posh school I'm afraid.Noggin wrote: ↑03 Apr 2017, 19:21Never thought much of tennis myself, can't trust a game where the scoring system is based on bad French.
In any case, can't see any winners from the current Yeltz situation in any respect, only losers on all fronts. With the possible exception of Mr Bean, of course (assuming that he actually gets paid unlike previously)

No but that's the problem Dazza, and that's why a lot of people have been rubbed up the wrong way. 'It's easier to say it's crap when you aren't involved'. Well maybe people would be involved if the attitude of the people running things was better. And it doesn't help if those people constantly tell people that have helped previously that they haven't done anything. I don't agree with your earlier point either about people helping despite not agreeing with what's going on at the club. Not all do obviously, but some certainly are seemingly content with what's going on from things I've seen and conversations I've had

Well how would you feel if you were helping out, giving up your free time, coming up with new ideas to try and take the club forward and give HTFC a good reputation which was savaged under previous regimes, then you hear folk saying things like "It'll never work", "That's a bad idea", "Only been fans for 5 minutes and look at them" . Surely you can understand that they might get a little defensive from the criticism that they are getting ! For christs sake they don't think they are any better than anyone else, they just see that there is work to be done at the club and they are doing it !

Oh dear, i'm afraid that a poor joke about tennis scoring caused somewhat of a racket for which I apologise to all and particularly to Dazza who seems to have taken offence where absolutely none was intended.
My point about all being losers was not referring the state of the ground, but to wider matters. The one thing that the current FOTG set up has got right is the ground work over the summer and all credit to those involved.
The wider aspects refer to general sense of the gloom around (in no particular order) the fact that we run the prospect of even more poor football, a disunited supporter base, lack of transparency as to the clubs governance and finally what for me is the primary concern; that the club and individuals face severe sanctions from the governing body. As to the FA part, I cannot believe that charges were laid if there was no intent to see them through and believe that the clubs actions after the original offence will be an aggravating factor.
I am sure that this will be labelled as toxic or disrespectful or some other disparaging term, but I think that football club faces serious threats from several directions at the moment and is ill placed to meet them. Worse of all, I have not got a clue (or if I'm frank, much desire) to do anything about them.

No offence taken so apology not needed. I was referring to the bad French not the Tennis but never mind.Noggin wrote: ↑04 Apr 2017, 05:27Oh dear, i'm afraid that a poor joke about tennis scoring caused somewhat of a racket for which I apologise to all and particularly to Dazza who seems to have taken offence where absolutely none was intended.

The way I see it is we can't do anything about what is out of our control like the FA charges, but we can still have pride in our football club, make visiting fans know that we love Halesowen Town FC, that is something we can control to a certain extent. Whatever we do to help can last for years, by then another manager or owner could be at the helm. As I've said before managers and owners come and go.
