Kidsgrove Prospects

Post by yeltz85 » 21 Jan 2013, 13:57

Temperatures meant to stay below freezing all week....

Wonder what chance we have of the game being on? I predict a P-P

If it's a PeePee on Saturday I suggest we 'support' the club like we did last Saturday in the Yeltz bar; no PL games on though so I suggest we crowbar sprout out of the PH Tav, a mission in it's own right...

Love you Dave :-*

Swipey putting cash in the Yeltzbar till only gratifies your stomach. It is an independent members club which enjoys and allows the trade on match days. Some of their members are fans and come to the matches.
There is no requirment and as far as I am aware at the moment no monetary support to the football club.

They do however, allow meetings to take place (as in the upcoming forum) but again they enjoy the takings.

Perhaps the Yeltzbar could have an advertising board and or pay for an advert in the programme and or sponsor a player?

Back to the theme of this thread i expect the match to be off Saturday for a frozen picth if the snow had gone or is moved.
Lets hope the winter spell is not like December\ January 2 years ago when with the exception of the Sourbridge derby on boxing day no matches for a whole month!

John, sometimes for an educated person your comments really astound me!

Please, take the time to speak to one of the committee about the make up of the Yeltz Bar, the constitution, and the current finances. I don't know if you are a current member as I don't have a membership list to hand, but if you are come to the AGM on 30th January and talk to us! If not Join, and then have a say in what goes on - Simples !!!!!

Sprout why is it seen as an attack when someone comments on things?

Was I not correct that Swipey thinks drinking in the Yeltz Bar supports the football club?

I may be wrong about the fact that the YB has sponsored a player (could not see on official site) I may not know or want to know all the workings and finance of the yeltz bar.

In Nigel Pitts days we were told that the club used to put funds across to the football club and that amount was decreasing year on year. Then on here we were told MM had taken the club to its knees, He was locked out as it was a private members club not to do with the football club he bought.

Then we were asked to sign in as guests when we came to Yeltz Trust gatherings.

Nothing malicious in my comments just don't want Swipey thinking every pint he sinks is reflected in what happens financially on the pitch. Simples!

With rain on Friday night and then temperatures of 2 degrees on Sat is there a chance that the game may be on?

Presume it may be off due to a waterlogged pitch?

John,
Suggest we continue this at the next match but inthe interim:-

1) I have only had conversation with 2 or 3 people re you post (and Johnny Bud was not one of them) but they were concerned it seemed like an attack on the bar
2) The bar constitution contains a clause that allows us to propose to AGM that a financial donation is given to a sporting or charitable institution within the Halesowen area isand as and when finances permit. Every pint drunk realky does help us move towards this position/goal, and yes, we are getting there - slowly!
3) The bar always was a separate institution to the football club. There are reasons why we had to enforce rules during the rebirth (and not all to do with MM)

I'll call my part of this to an end now as the purpose of this thread was not this, but whether seen as an attack or not, if you post ona public forum then you have to expect people to reply with their own opinions

i don`t know the current position re finances of the yeltz bar. what i do know is the people running it started laden with debts from we know who, debts so bad it would have been easy to let the bar go to the wall. these people worked hard for the last couple of years not just by bringing in money but also by pursuading (begging?) creditors to give more time etc. and yes without football at the grove this would have been so much harder if not impossible, with 1st team/youth/ladies/wba ladies/blackheath there is almost a`captive audience` to exploit (as does `the waggon` and other local pubs) you can see the difference in the bar 6pm on a saturday after a home match compared to when the 1st team are away (and during closed season)
so supporters money spent in bar has helped to keep the bar going, pay off debts and now, hopefully, allow some `disposable income` (the agm will probably tell) the bar can then decide what to do with this income moving forward, the `sporting institution` doesnt have to be HTFC club and money may be spent on improvements to bar/repairs etc
now if the agm shows that money is available but its decided not to feed any to htfc THEN supporters can decide if `putting money in the yeltzbar till only gratifies their stomachs`then they can vote with their feet (and i would think this would also make htfc think of having thier own bar on the grove) BUT this hasnt happened yet and im sure that if money is available htfc would be invited to meet to so both parties can help each other, just like it was in the old days!
