0-8 defeats

Post by Laurel Lane Lamper » 24 Dec 2012, 09:43

Anyone else out there ancient enough like me to remember:

07-Apr-62 BILSTON A 0 8 FARROW HALL FIELD PURVIS JOHNSON ADAMS
ROBERTS PARSONS BISSELL DUGMORE O'BRIEN

I exchanged texts yesterday with the Yeltz fan I was standing next to that day and who also was suffering yesterday :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[
We're struggling to remember Bilston's big no.9 - McDermott?? - if anyone can help? Our side was full of great Yeltz players from the 60's but were totally thrashed. Of course, as no doubt with yesterday, consolation soon arrived:
12-May-62 KIDDERMINSTER WSC FINAL A 3 1 FARROW HALL FIELD PURVIS
CULWICK ADAMS ROBERTS PARSONS* HARGREAVES** DUGMORE O'BRIEN
One of the greatest days in our history.

some may remember the other time we equalled our heaviest league defeat:

05/02/2011 EVESHAM UTD H 175 0 8 FLOWER ROOFE ADAMS IBHADON RICHARDS MCGRATH BRUCE MEAKIN-RICHARDS NISBETT CURTIS CHILTON
ROBINSON FULLWOOD HINDS MONCHEU JARRETT
There was no immediate consolation after this one, it just got worse and worse until that season had ended.....

Was that our biggest defeat? Scary to think it was only 2 years ago. History recently has been re-written in a very bad way :'(
