Re: Old Halesowen Shirts
Bit of a nerd when it comes to footy kits, found this shirt on the excellent www.oldfootballshirts.com site.
What confuses me is that it's submitted as the 93-94 season HOME shirt???
If this is the case, was there an uproar turning our backs on the Royal Blue, and what was the story behind this strange kit? I hope there's a tale (and a little controversy) to it - probably just the away kit or summat

It was the away shirt.
The home one was blue with a white stripe.
I had both, natch.

Re: Old Halesowen Shirts
I believe this was the away shirt, and possibly two years prior to that.Dave Berry was the reason for the orange, re the sponsor at the time. 96-98 we played AT HOME in Black with yellow arms. 99-00 was a god awful white shirt. I need to get up the loft as I've got pretty much every home shirt since 91-92 and a few away shirtsswipey wrote:Bit of a nerd when it comes to footy kits, found this shirt on the excellent http://www.oldfootballshirts.com site.

I'd really love to see these kits - be fantastic if you could get up to said loft and maybe submit them to the above site?HalesowenHarry wrote:96-98 we played AT HOME in Black with yellow arms.I need to get up the loft as I've got pretty much every home shirt since 91-92 and a few away shirts

Re: Old Halesowen Shirts
Almost right HH.
The orange was to replicate the corporate colours of Dave Berry but the first iteration of the Dave Berry shirt was white with orange shoulders (the home was blue with white shoulders).
*adjusts anorak and shuffles off*

*Begrudgingly gives mantle to YeltzDoc with the strange rustling of polyester & press-studs from the two of them*

Re: Old Halesowen Shirts
The black and yellow home shirt of 96 - 98 was in the corporate colours of the now Hamer Ford formerly of Manor Way.
They were the main sponsors of the club at the time and the club agreed to change the home kit as some on the commitee / board claimed ...."yellow and black were the clubs original colours from the 1870's".
Sounds like corporate claptrap to me.
I dare say all records of this remark have now been expunged.
We got a good version of a song out of it though.

Re: Old Halesowen Shirts
a lot of the old shirts can be seen STILL WORN by some of the older type supporters at the grove (or `tighter` type supporters..well the shirts are tighter anyway!)
please buy a new shirt...the club has used up the money you paid for that one in 1993!
ps the shirt i bought in 1980 still fits....in my wardrobe
