Yeltz ten years from now.

Based on another father/son football related discussion where would you like to - realistically- see the club in ten-year's time? For me personally I'd be happy being solid competitors in National League North averaging 1500 supporters and the open side of the ground covered. Is that realistic? What do you think?

Europe. After 4 successive promotions we will ground share at St Andrews while the Grove is developed into a 35000 capacity stadium. Upon returning to our home we will then pass the V*lla on their way down to league one and ultimately reach the premiership. After a season struggling to a mid table finish we next push on to a top 4 spot, relegating Man City and Birmingham to the minor European places.
Pity you never said 11 years time.....

Ah, this is a nice topic of discussion. I would love to see us in Step 2. When I went to Kiddy earlier in the season, I could help but think how great it would be to play at grounds like that week in week out. And that day it proved (on and off the pitch) that we are ready.
By having an owner that has built the club’s resources with a long term plan, rather than hunting for short term success, it makes me hugely optimistic for the next ten years. I’m convinced we are a Step 2 club in terms of size, but ironically haven’t been one since they redid the pyramid.
Covering the open sides would be nice and would probably add to, and spread out, the atmosphere. But I would suggest a bigger bar inside the ground would be the next thing to address. That’s maybe where we lack against other clubs and lose a bit of matchday revenue. Away facilities would need also touching up if we moved up a level.
Lastly, to finalise my Veruca Salt wishlist, I would love a cup run? It feels that’s overdue. First round of the Cup just once in the next ten years would keep me happy.

I'll take a cover at The Stourbr*dge Road end, a couple of runs in the FA Cup to the 1st round playing someone like Walsall or Notts County. Consistently finishing above that lot on the ring road and maybe playing at the step above will do me. A larger bar in the ground that offers food to generate income would be good as would improving the Yeltz Bar.

Seriously, I just hope that we are still well run. After being spoiled by watching 20 odd years of good football within a stable background, at the highest level we have ever played, the shambles of the M**s*n, Ingram, Lynch era was disorientating to put it mildly. Since the time of Karen/Keith the most we have to worry about is if we are worthy of our place near the top of the table.

Some really interesting views - I'm liking Andy's eleven-year vision- but I'm calling out the use of psychedelic substances!
The conversation with my son was actually instigated by recalling our favourite game of 2024 - the Kiddy game and how well we played and how comfortable we looked at that level and the great support - it makes you dream!
I think the general concensus is to be a well run club regardless of the level we play at and improve the hospitality at the ground. Personally I'd also love to see cover along the side of the ground - many memories of being soaked. But all great ideas and all completely realistic too (except Andy's shroom vision!).

At 86 years of age I just hope that, in 10 years time, I can still muster the strength to get to The Eddy, have a couple of pints, and then watch The Yeltz.
Here's hoping!
