Platty’s Streak (and reducing HH’s productivity).

Post by YeltzDoc » 06 Mar 2024, 17:15

Exactly the sort of nonsense some forumistas love.

Platty played his 100th consecutive game on Tuesday.

Do we have anyone with a longer streak?

I think Malcolm was ever-present in his last season, suggesting a possibility?

I'm fairly confident in saying "no". Quite a few have got close with just the odd game missing. Paul and Lee hit the 70s and 80s mark, before missing the odd one. Malcolm (several times) and Kristian Green went on long unbroken runs and there are many others, Les Randle, Snapper, for example who had good runs also. Don't forget back in the day we played in a host of tinpot competitions every year, which generally had better players rested. But ( I think!) Platty is the first.

We also have several keepers who put good runs together, Caldicott, Pemberton, Danny, Tim and others, but none hit the mark. And talking of 'marks', our new gaffers dad, Mark Penn, had some good runs too.
