Sat next to Savage on a plane once. He was polite to the stewardess.

More showbiz news as it breaks...

Plastic pitch too. Sorry, " a phenomenal platform for all our players to express themselves from local grassroots teams to Macclesfield FC Junior Academy all the way to the Silkmen’s First Team. Its all-weather properties ensure that training sessions/games are unaffected by the elements all year round."

The "professional" nature of their website is a joy of corporate copyrighting.

Hmm, not a great draw. Big crowd i suppose but would rather of had a home draw. Remember going there about 30 years ago. Already in the ground for a SSC game, ref didnt fancy it, bounced the ball and called it off for a waterlogged pitch. Went up then for the rearranged game and got trounced 4-1. Hopefully a bit more luck this time!

Is this an all ticket match, why dont they say "yes it is" or "no its not" , or is that too simple ?

Yes and no. Not great in terms of advancing, but from a financial point of view it will be handy. They're currently averaging 3200 at home. Let's assume we'll take 500, so call that 3500.

If we work at average ticket prices of £7, that's a gross take of the best part of £25k, which when costs are taken off means we'd make something in the region of £10k.

Very bad back of a watermelon elfbar packet calculations i suspect, but it will be a profitable day nonetheless I'd hope.
