There's always someone in the sort of greater East Angular area that gets sawn off.
Sod 'em, I still haven't forgiven them for nicking Neil Moore.

Left us at the end of the 87/88 season. Only 35 years ago.

I'm not one to bear a grudge, to me a grudge is merely where a South African parks his car.

For those that don't remember, a classy full back and centre half from the latter Vase years.
Sadly died at a young age about 10 years ago.

The passage of time, whilst predictably linear, still comes as a surprise.
Me immediately thinking of Neil Moore when Bishop's Stortford were mentioned, is exactly the same as Chas or someone of similar length of tenure, telling me, at the end of my first season down The Grove, of a great player from 1948...

Back row, 2nd from left and next to trainer Freddie Birch
Doc, do you remember why he went to BS. One of the most unlikely moves

I know we beat them in the FA Cup that year. Was it a consequence of that?

And you have to tell me of a player from the 1947/48 season.

I ca n remember their manager, John Redford ex Arsenal, walking across the top of the open side terrace which I would think was his scouting mission before the FA Cup tie.
Neil also went on to Worcester City?

With all my info a long way away from me, I’ll offer you the name of the man probably entitled to be called legend as much as, if not more than, anyone WILF JONES. who I think is back row, 3rd from left

And about 75 then by the looks. And why did the local butcher get in on the act?
