Well if it ends up as a clear out of dead wood and problems, and we fail to go up, we've still lost nothing. We wouldn't have gone up as it was anyway. If we do go up we'll be part of the way to a fresh start already. Happy days!

Well, it’s certainly a “shake-up”. I didn’t think much of it at first - in a way it covers your arse. Smudger is mates with Clarkey, so why not dual reg some with one another so you can still call on more players after the deadline has passed.

I don’t believe the club were planning to mention any of this happening behind-the-scenes but they were “announced” by the social media bloke at the Southern League, which panicked a few fans and forced us to come out with “this is what we’ve done btw” tweet. Otherwise we may not have been any the wiser.

Some players do seem unhappy with how it has been handled judging by posts and likes, but im much happier now with a last minute roll of the dice to save the season instead of things fizzling out.

I really liked the interview with the new assistant on Yeltz TV. Worth a listen if you haven’t already.
