Only one other game, beside, ours, is an early KO on Saturday.
Why are we early? Surely the game times for the KO stages of World Cup were known beforehand.

You think you're cheesed off. El Seano had been planning to come to this game for months. His plane lands at Birmingham around midday. With customs and distance from airport 1pm is a no go.

1 match, so no

I don't think it's a bad idea, there's a match on at 3, and although it won't affect us greatly, another 30-40 floaters who add to our coffers, is worth it. If England had finished runners up we'd have then had to ask Cambridge to move at very short notice. So they were damned if they did or damned if they didley didn't. We're save on floodlights costs as well ;D

Correct me if Im wrong but I have a hazy memory of a Boxing day kick off at Lye being at 10am. Was that regular back then?

11am. Back then all Boxing Day matches were 11 until several consecutive years where frost made postponements at 11 but pitches were fine by afternoon, so it was consigned to history then.

Maybe somewhat controversial, but I didn’t actually mind the early kick off time yesterday. Worked out for me in a personal perspective as had social plans meaning I had to be in Birmingham early evening whereas I may have struggled to make the game at a 3pm kick off.

Also the club will have saved a few quid yesterday by not having to switch the floodlights on, which in the current climate with cost of living is certainly not a bad thing.

On the downside though, I reckon the early start took a couple of hundred off our attendance yesterday and the atmosphere down the Grove yesterday was rather flat despite a ‘healthy’ 766.

Difficult one, but sure the traditionalists will disagree with me and say its 3pm or nothing.
