Bottling it is the worst way to stay down, isn't it? :'(

Looking back we do seem to have had many chances to take this league. A combination of reasons have been mentioned on here and I'm not going to drag them up again but maybe the ultimate reason is we are not as good as we like to believe we are. Let's just hope it all comes together for the play offs.

Often, the team arriving in the play offs in the best form, prevail.

That team is currently Stamford, so I hope we go all out to win the last 2 games in a bid to overtake Chasetown. If we can finish second, we ought to beat Belper, and then a one off game at home would be an advantage, although we've only lost once away all season...a bad one at mid-table Shepshed.

I'm not sure what the point of me posting this thread was.

I woke up yesterday completed deflated and frustrated at how the last 6 or so games have gone. I feel like we've lost the league, rather than Ilkeston have won it. That's what's getting me down.

Oh well, let's dust ourselves down, and get ready for two (hopefully) big play off games.

And, who knows, if Ilkeston lose and we win comfortably today, anything can happen on Saturday.

Thats where it gets interesting, because we've lost some bad ones at home. Very much a Jekyl and Hyde team, but being realistic, we were never going to walk the league. I didnt buy that idea before the season, and lets not forget we lost the core of a very good team pre-season.

That said, we have the players to do well. Like Andy said the reason we're scrambling has already been discussed. It hasnt been a bad season, far far from it, but I think the expectation hasnt been matched.
