Re: Play offs
Thanks for posting this. It's useful to know, although I am hoping it will be irrelevant of course!Simons wrote: ↑09 Mar 2022, 20:32Just in case they are needed, this article confirms the dates and explains how it all works, especially in relation to relegation from Step 3

Even though the non-league pyramid system now has a 1-2-4-8-16 league format from Step 1 to Step 5, the relegation is still complicated.

Re: Play offs
IF we don't go up as Champions then we HAVE to finish in second place to ensure home advantage in both games.

No, no, no. We HAVE to go up as champions. I simply could not bear the play offs......lutleyyeltz wrote: ↑10 Mar 2022, 15:40IF we don't go up as Champions then we HAVE to finish in second place to ensure home advantage in both games.

Re: Play offs
So...if we don't go up this season, this is the current projection of our league next season.
Bedworth United
Bishop's Cleeve
Boldmere St Michaels
Cambridge City
Carlton Town
Coleshill Town
Corby Town
Daventry Town
Evesham United
Halesowen Town
Harborough Town
Hinckley New Road
Long Eaton United
Loughborough Dynamo
Shepshed Dynamo
Spalding United
Sporting Khalsa
Stamford
Sutton Coldfield Town
Yaxley
So that would be five promoted clubs (in bold) and Evesham moving to the NPL, but no relegated teams from Step 3.

Re: Play offs
Not at all bud. Just a bit of tongue in cheek teasing. Think its play offs and the lottery that is, but Im not giving up til the last whistle.
In all honesty if we go up we go up, if we dont we dont. I dont think it makes a huge difference financially
Id rather we did but the world doesnt cave in if not. Just happy to see a full season!

Re: Play offs
And here is a current projection if we go up. We would change back to the Southern League, but aside from playing at a higher level, there is also an incentive of far more local matches, which is an anomaly, as the higher you go the less local the leagues become. I want this league, even though I know admission priced will be higher!
Teams in bold would have been promoted.
A.F.C. Rushden & Diamonds
Alvechurch
Barwell
Bedford Town
Bromsgrove Sporting
Halesowen Town
Hednesford Town
Hitchin Town
Leiston
Mickleover Sports
Needham Market
Nuneaton Borough
Peterborough Sports
Redditch United
Royston Town
Rushall Olympic
St. Ives Town
Stafford Rangers
Stourbr*dge
Stowmarket Town
Stratford Town
Tamworth

Re: Play offs
I'd take that! Not sure where you got that projection from but what if it was us and Chasetown that got promoted. I would guess they would be in that league also.
