Interesting debate on another thread so I decided to do some stats based on if we were placed in the Northen league next season compared to being in the Southern. It surely backs the case for us to be moved next season. Ive based next season's league on the below excel spreadsheet.

If we were in the northern we would only have to travel 2,628 miles which is an average of 125 per game compared to 4,196 now, which is an average of 210.

Attendances would also be a lot better (based on 2010-11 averages). The Northern League would give us an average of 204 rather than the 154 in the Southern League.

So not only would we travel far less miles, we would also gain from potentially (slightly) higher away crowds.

My slightly sad workings are below. Would love to know everyone elses thoughts. Enjoy!

All looks very good and a common sense thing to do to move us across but based on my short time of dealing with the fa they do not seem to have any common sense! Oh and you need to get out more!

I could be flippant and suggest that travelling to Newcastle every couple of weeks would soon become a bit of a drag!

But seriously, as it looks like Stourport will be relegated the NPL would be a far better place for you to be.

never mind the travelling..,would it be easier to win matches!

Newcastle Town are based in Newscastle Under Lyme. No the one you were thinking of. ;-)

If Stourport do get relegated it looks more and more likely we will be in that league.

Do you mean crowds will be higher at our away games? If yes not our gain.

Or we will benefit from some away supporters paying to get into the Grove? There has not been many this season.
