the most famous (non-football) person that we’ve had at The Grove.
Ahem.

The first time I ever set foot in the Grove was in the late 70’s for a charity match involving the Albion All Stars. My mum worked at Hayley Green Hospital and I think it was something to do with their fund raising efforts. Anyway I distinctly remember that the match was kicked off by no less a personage than Noele Gordon, Queen of Crossroads. Beats Robert Plant any day of the week!

Noelle Gordon used to live in a flat less than a mile from where I grew up, my Mom used to see parked at the Post Office. She (Noelle Gordon) used to drive a gold Royce with personalised number plate but in later days a blue Mini Metro with the same personalised plate. By coincidence my Mom also had a blue Mini Metro, but without the personalised plate

Whilst we're on the subject of Crossroad I once saw Lynette McMorrough, who used to play Glenda in the show, in Cotterills Toy Shop opposite the church which is now The Spoons. She was admiring the selection of dolls houses and sporting a blue and white Yeltz scarf so I assume she was on the ay to the match. It was a Saturday lunchtime. ;)

Further details needed here: like why you were loitering outside the toy shop accosting dolls house enthusiasts?

At the risk of upsetting Doc ..... Villa, England, Italian clubs, Worcs City legend Gerry Hitchens was a Halesowen resident. I expect my Dad told him about The Town while serving him bacon and eggs etc

Bloody hell. My mom worked at the hospital for as long as I can remember. Only stopped a few years ago

I was on my way to Hobbs hardware shop to buy a jar of Swarfega and got distracted by the model houses in Cotterills. ::)

I believe the most popular dolls house was called “The Franklin”.

Were there any other items that caught your eye?
