Have I missed it, or have the Southern League not made a decision on the rest of the season yet?

I thought all the clubs had voted on the options weeks ago?

Not unexpected, but I’d have thought even they could have counted up the votes by now
The Northern Premier League Chairman said it would take the FA time to analyse the responses from the clubs Then I assume there are zoom meetings with different committees. League, FA Council and then proposal put to FA to make a decision.

Last year the league's rushed a decision over a weekend.

Hopefully we hear something soon as the clubs, management, players and fans need to know what is going to happen.

From the oracle - https://twitter.com/ollie_bayliss/statu ... 41925?s=21

No decision has yet been made regarding the Step 3-6 season.

I understand the FA hopes to send out a small update to clubs in the coming days.

The Government’s ‘roadmap’ announcement on 22nd February & the decision at Step 2 could limit some of the options available.

And here it is.

TLDR? “Hurry up and wait”.

The Oracle has tweeted to say that Step 2 is null and void.

Which I imagine gives the Tripod leagues the cover they need to do likewise.

Yes they'll all be voided again.

In the National League, 14 clubs voted to continue and 7 against, and 2 clubs didn't vote.

The National League North voted 12-9 to continue and the National League South voted 15-7 to finish, so the majority call was to void both North and South.

The National League could be chaotic though as Dover are refusing to play any more matches and I guess others may follow suit.

It can't be a coincidence though that generally the clubs with most to gain wanted to continue and those with most to lose wanted to stop. So self-interest was definitely at play at both ends rather than altruism for the collective good.

You're absolutely right, and I guess that's what's bound to happen when you put it out for a vote.

It was similar last season as well - I recall that Alvechurch and Redditch were both joyous about it being nullified, so even if they had allowed clubs to have a say in the decision, it might have gone the same way.

I hadn't thought about it yesterday but this does also create issues for the FA Trophy as there are still Step 2 and 3 teams competing in that - be interesting to see what happens there. And, of course, the FA Trophy final from last season! (Not that we care about that.)

Seems like the leagues are meeting Tuesday to decide what to do, after the Government announcement on due on Monday

Can’t see how it’ll be anything but null and void again, but who knows what random thing they may decide on

I like "The Tripod leagues" as a name.
And of course it has a Yeltz link.

Anyone? Anyone?

OK, I'll tell you. Former Halesowen stopper Tony Rowe was rumoured to resemble a tripod when viewed from certain angles...

True fact.

I can't deny it, I was hoping to tag someone in for a Leroy May anecdote, but I'll take your word on Tony Rowe as well! :o
