There were 11 of us at Crawley. I remember mentioning it to Malcolm, who replied, "Is that in case we don't turn up?"

Me, you, Rog, Dave for certain, maybe El Seano if he was in London at the time, maybe Big Nige, Big / Little RIch, Keeef, OG and a few other dignitaries, anyone else?

I suspect we had fewer during some of the dark days. A trip to Cheshunt or maybe Chesham was a particular lowlight if memory serves.
I was there if it's assuming a 1-0 win, Kevin Harrison 3rd minute??? Possibly the 2 years before we won 3-1 also on a Tuesday night to take it to the last game of the season (Rushden season)

29th March 1994?
That's the one chap.

Reading tales of such dark times, really hits home how incredible Roger and Dave's 27 year stretch was. I don't think I can get my head around it.

Anyone know what the longest weekday trip they did? Didn't we have Lowestoft on a Tuesday a few years back?
Did the Dover one on the Thursday but not the Monday one Chas mentioned. St Leonard's in Hastings also, on a Wednesday if memory serves. All long trips but I think one might be longer. I didn't go but didn't we travel to Truro about 9 or 10 years back on a midweek and get done 7-0 or something?

Indeed Chesham under Ingram's ownership, Cunnington manager. Roger, Dave, Chas and myself (I had arranged work for two days near by) I think Sandra and Andrew were only "club officials". Walked in rolling fog. Ref started and then 20 minutes in suspended play for 10 minutes to see if roll if. It didn't game abandoned I led protests for a refund not a voucher and we four were indeed refunded eventually.
FOUR of you! Absolutely fantastic! And abandoned, even better! ;D

We lost 6-0 in that awful season, but thought that was on a Saturday in October (I'd been to the win the season before, but not this one!). Went to Cambridge City later in the season and think we got walloped 7-1 then as well on a night, though they all merged into one that season!

Oh ok HH. That's a shame as it blows Dover away. 243 miles!

I think Salisbury was midweek away around that time. Not such a distance but another of those where Cunnington had to get players’ petrol tanks filled on Manor Way up to M5 before they’d travel

Agree with observations about Truro, but I wimped out of the 6-0 episode having made the trek the year before (I seem to remember the supporters coach left at 0730 and returned at 2330). It was also memorable for the fact that Zeezee was rendered totally speechless by a few pints of Rattler cider

The Cambridge City match that we lost 7-1 was most definitely on a Saturday afternoon - I remember it all too well because of additional costs

That was the reason that I remember the Cambridge City match so well. Mike Burke and I both paid for some coaches to get the players to away matches, but did it anonymously because of our involvement in the Trust. I recall paying for the one to Cambridge and then having to pay my coach fare as well because of the anonymous payment for the damned thing.

Cambridge 7 1 was on a Saturday, a couple of seasons earlier we lost 3 nil there on a Monday night. I have such an awful memory of that match that I also thought it was the 7 1.
