Re: Roger Turner
A round of applause on 27 minutes would be an appropriate tribute?
A truly lovely man who was an absolute encyclopaedia and will be sorely missed. A privilege to have shared the terraces with him. Not to mention for several of the last few years, his Christmas cake supply was the highlight of the season.

Terrible news. A fixture at The Grove for all the time I’ve been going.
RIP Rog.

Re: Roger Turner
Firstly my thoughts are with Dave his son and Roger's wife. Such a sad loss for them.
I only knew him for about 15 years and never heard him say an angry word through all the rubbish we went through on and off the pitch at times.
Shame he has been taken with the way things are now.
RIP Roger.

I will arrange a minutes silence before kick off and think/agree we should do a minutes applause on 27 minutes as well.
RIP Roger.

Re: Roger Turner
So saddened and shocked to hear of this. A true gent, and I always enjoyed chatting to him.
I hope Dave is OK, if anyone speaks to him, pass on my best.
What's the relevance of 27? Is that the amount of years without missing a game?

Re: Roger Turner
As JC has already alluded to, one of the nicest people anyone could meet. In well over 30 odd years I've never heard an unkind word from him. For him and Dave HTFC mean everything and it's fitting his last games were finally enjoyable ones. He will be sorely missed at West Bromwich Dartmouth also as the family were regulars there also. A fine cricketer himself apparently, playing at a good level. The Grove has already seemed strange the last couple of weeks without him there, will not seem the same again. Thoughts very much with Marlene and Dave at this sad time.

I still find that remarkable. True dedication. Especially considering the recent dark times.andy wrote: ↑12 Feb 2020, 10:57Yes mate.AwayDayYeltz wrote: ↑12 Feb 2020, 10:55
