If I apply, would anyone be happy to be my reference?

I once took Walsall to the Premier League and brought Champions League football to the Bescot, on Football. Manager. If that doesn't qualify me, I don't know what will.

For the purpose of full disclosure, I was sacked in my 5th season, after failing to get in the top 6. After three promotions and an FA cup triumph, as well as some memorable European nights. I was bitterly disappointed.

That was around 2008/9 and have no relevant football managerial experience, to speak of, since then.

After the sour end to my Walsall career, I vowed never to play Football Manager, again. It's a boycott I have kept to.

Fuck Jeff Bonser. The tight fisted and ungrateful cock womble.

The ‘Lee Hughes has been offered the opportunity to apply for the role’ line is beyond disappointing. The club should be ruling the possibility of him being manager out, whatever the circumstances. That they aren’t is shameful, he shouldn’t be at the club. It’s a sad reflection of what Halesowen Town has become

It's clear and understandable, as to why it wouldn't sit right, with a number of Yeltz fans, to have a man in charge with Hughes' history.

Now, it doesn't bother me, as much as others. Infact, I respect Hughes, for serving his sentence and contributing to society by earning a good living.

I would be happy with him and Asa in charge. And I think it's a very good move for Karen and Keith to allow others to apply, while leaving the door open for Hughes and Asa. It's a very sensible move.

But, you have to respect why people wouldn't want Hughes in charge. It's a reasonable point of view.

I don’t want Hughes in charge full time and I could write a list as long as my arm to why.

I have to say the timing on this is not great. I know our season is dead and buried but other clubs have plenty to play for and honest manager wouldn’t start throwing his CV around for another job at this point.

I’d have waited until the season end before requesting applications.

That's a fair point.
