Who was the one that refused to come out for the second half?
Easy.... Erik Hummel 24th Jan 2009 at home to Rugby Town...... 0-4......
He went in goal for of us in a much at Dales Lane I recall and we were victorious in the penalty shootout if I remember correctly.

Good shout Doc. How about John Morris as his assistant?

Wheels- wasn’t it Jack Allward who went in goal after Bussey got sent off in that game? I think Hummel was playing as well...

I found it on Yeltz Archives. Allward did go in goal- and scored the winning penalty.

Hummel missed one in the shoot out.

Not controversial for me. Produced probably our best ever side. I'm sure this will stir up debate re the Vase sides, but we were a couple of levels higher and only very narrowly missed out on making the 5th tier Conference. Paddy and John Morris will get legitimate mentions but let's see if others agree.

Stepping aside from the players for a moment. Surely the ultimate club legend has got to be Harry Rudge
Funny looking at the late 40s photo. Harry still looks the same age! Was he born old? :D

You are quite correct. What I'm recalling is as Erik stepped up to take the penalty which he missed you were stood next to me and shouting Erik the Viking as I recall. I googled Erik out of interest and is or was an analyst for the MLS in case people are wondering why you would shout Erik the Viking on Google there is a picture of him in a suit which illustrates why such a thing would be shouted
