Performances in one word

Post by juanillo » 21 Nov 2018, 18:12

For league and national cup matches, and setting aside the actual results...

Lowestoft – undeserved
Banbury – poor
Kettering – non-descript
Biggleswade – unconvincing
Stourbr*dge – fortunate
St Neots – lucky
Matlock* - creditable
Kings Lynn – average
Gainsborough - outclassed
Bedworth* – dire
Rushall – decent
Leiston – murdered
Needham Market – acceptable
Grantham* – good
Royston – dogged
Prescot – jammy
St Ives* – woeful
Barwell - hopeless

The asterisked matches denote opponents who were on a terrible run at the time of the game.

I think the half-term report is quite damning.

I’m not sure what word I’d use to describe St Ives as it was so baffling, but I do know that ‘woeful’ is being far too generous

Good summary.

I'd sum up this season as; A missed opportunity. Woeful, but not surprising.

I believe Colin, Karen and Keith will look back at the summer with deep regret at not wiping the slate clean after the good news of the takeover. It was a wonderful opportunity to move forward in unity between fans and clubs. That chance wasn't taken.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing, isn't it? I realise that. But I could see this coming, and I have been shot down many a time for predicting it.

Can I just state, that loyalty is a great quality to have and reflects well on our owners, but sadly in this case it's been misplaced.
