Presumably the same old, numerous and testing friendlies , from lower leagues sides have /will be arranged .

Bromsgrove isn't a bad one, they'll bring a few and Kev Barry is there so it was inevitable, plus they're a side on the up so it'll be a good test.
However, I hope the rest of it doesn't read - Wolves Casuals, Khalsa, Tipton, and the usual suspects. It would be nice to get one "glamour" tie at least. I'm sure work is going on behind the scenes.

I'm guessing the likes of Gloucester, Nuneaton, Telford, or Leamington, let alone Solihull Moors won't be on the radar.
If the last few seasons are anything to go by, the glamour may well come in the form of those you mention or even Cradley Town, Dudley Sports or Bilston.
Pre-season has certainly not led to a successful transition into competitive matches in recent seasons.

yes and isn't it yet another sign of a manager who won't or is incapable of learning from previous mistakes.

I also worry about the level of side we face in the friendlies we arrange. Why do we spend pre-season playing the Dog & Duck Sunday league sides? What are management going to learn about current / new players against these type of sides?
That has been the issue for John's reign here, we seldom get off to a good start in the season, and we always seem to constantly chop and change our personnel early on (probably because that player who looked good against Tipton unsurprisingly can't do it at our level). It's as if we have used the first 5-10 games of the league season as our actual pre-season, to truly judge players. This simply can't happen this time around as we can't afford to get off to a bad start this year - if we do I expect Karen to act, unlike Lynch.
I'll be surprised if the 'poor start' trend is 'bucked'.

We need the lynch to be honourable and do one before we're all worried about the above.
