From BBC News Black Country

"Former West Bromwich Albion and Coventry City striker Lee Hughes has been declared bankrupt.

Hughes, 41, joined non-league Halesowen Town last week, after being given his first job in management when he became Worcester City player-manager in May.

The former roofer began his career at Kidderminster Harriers before joining Albion, who he left for £5m when he signed for Coventry in 2001.

Smethwick-born Hughes said he did not have any comment to make on Friday".

This is something Karen HAS to change.

We simply can’t have these sort of people representing this great town. Please note how I say town and not FC. When you get involved within this brilliant club you don’t just represent the club you represent this beautiful town.

Can we please stop this fad of associating Halesowen with complete and utter disrespect?

Plenty of people are declared bankrupt week-in, week-out, for a multitude of reasons. It is, sadly, a fact of life. I don't see how this reflects badly on HTFC as a club. It's a purely personal matter.

PS. Perhaps he'll re-form himself as AFC Lee Hughes?

So if a player gets a speeding fine it brings HTFC into disrepute?
Come on - bankruptcy is not a criminal offence.
Hughes has been lambasted, punished and villified for a far worse offence than this civil matter.
Dismount from the high horse!
