To be fair to any organisation it is good to have a plan should there be an end to this any time soon. If there isn't then nothing is lost anyway.

No exception for Deventer ! Also Go Ahead Eagles can suffer from this if they are still playing the playoff game !

As far as Mayor Ron König van Deventer is concerned, this wish from the KNVB and most clubs comes too early. “Football is important, but organizing events and meetings is simply not yet possible. We cannot make an exception for football. The reality is also that we don't know when the competition can continue. ”

NOS: Mayors want ban on events and 'corona proof' football

All this summer's events across the country have to be canceled. The mayors of large cities are urging the cabinet to do so, reports the NOS.

The mayors believe that the cabinet should introduce a ban until September 1 or October 1. The KNVB could then focus on the new season, for example with less audience in the stadiums. Everything must be aimed at 'corona-proof' football, it sounds.

According to the NOS, the mayors' advice was discussed in the consultation between the security risks and the cabinet. Last week, the Eindhoven mayor John Jorritsma presented himself as the most prominent fighter against playing the Eredivisie.

An obvious option for making football 'corona-proof' is to allow a lot less audience. There is also talk of a scenario in which more games than normal are played in a shortened time frame.

So , probably no footy in Holland but next tuesday we will hear more from our PM Mark Rutte

It's not good news is it. And to be honest I think it will go that way here also. There is no chance in my opinion that this virus will be any less of a threat for a long, long time to come. As yet hardly anybody in has had it and a vaccine is the only answer. Let's hope the boffins come up with one that can be rolled out quickly.

Events prohibited until September 1
The current ban on events will be extended to September 1, Prime Minister Rutte has announced. He said we can't handle the risks of events in the coming months. Organizations also have clarity through this decision. The prime minister cited Pinkpop, the Nijmegen Four Days Marches and Zwarte Cross as examples that cannot continue. Professional football will also be suspended until the end of the summer. "And yes, it is sour. But we cannot escape making this sacrifice together. I hope and expect people to understand this," said the Prime Minister.

No footy until 01 -09

The football association KNVB has asked all professional clubs for advice about the current Premier League season. The decisions on European tickets, relegation and promotion have to be made, because the highest football league has been shut down in early March due to the corona virus and will not be played out.

The professional clubs in the premier and first division received an email from the football association this morning at ten o'clock with three scenarios. The clubs must indicate which scenario they prefer before half past five this afternoon. Several sources confirm this to the NOS.

Option 1: Delete competition and distribute European tickets based on current rankings, no degradants.

Option 2: Maintain current rankings and determine European tickets based on this and identify relegants.

Option 3: no degradants, a competition with twenty clubs.

The football association advises the clubs not to opt for the latter option. Too many problems (including safety) would be involved in this option. It will therefore mainly be necessary to choose between promotion / relegation or no promotion / relegation.

Recruiting votes
It is now important for interested clubs to get as many votes as possible. "Today it will be a matter of forging coalitions," said an insider.

"That means making sure that you can get several clubs behind a scenario, so that the majority gives the same advice to the professional football management. The person with the best contacts can get a lot done on a day like today."

"As we understand him, the KNVB will see this vote as a very important advice. Whether it will be a binding opinion? That remains to be seen. Much will depend on the outcome and the number of clubs that may even refrain from voting. "

At half past three the football association holds a conference call with all clubs involved.
