>:( >:( >:( No Spectators allowed during 3 weeks !

The cabinet is coming up with drastic measures. They hit the whole of society hard. Extremely hard. And so also professional football. But apparently this is necessary. Safety and health above all. No public may be present at any (sports) event. The next three weeks. This is of course very sour. All the more because there is no scientific evidence between the presence of an audience in a stadium and the increase in the number of corona cases in the Netherlands.

And football has really done everything and invested heavily to create a safe situation in stadiums. We also believe that this has worked very well and research shows this as well. We have been overloaded with compliments from local governments for this. Nevertheless, The Hague is now opting for these measures. We have to accept this. Unfortunately. Football takes its responsibility.

Having to play without an audience does of course make the call for support from The Hague even louder and louder. The cabinet will understand that too. As they did before.

And we assume that if everyone adheres to the new measures, we will be able to play with the public again as soon as possible. And again directly at the level we are now at.

Otherwise, the damage to football and other sports in the Netherlands is incalculable.

And I have a local derby on Sunday where I am the referee. Comparable to the No.9 match against St ** rbridge!

I already had it last year and then there were 1500 spectators !!

And this weekend: 0, nada, niente, nobody :-(

We are still very lucky at the Town Ronnie. 'Only' 400 allowed but with the higher leagues not expecting any fans for the foreseeable future we are in a good position. Hope it lasts......
Stay safe.

Unfortunately I think most governments are looking for 'easy' targets. We all know that households and unrestricted gatherings and education facilities are worse but pubs, sport and anything enjoyable, even with measures in place still get hit first. :-\

Hugo Borst wondered afterwards in the FOX Sports studio whether Ajax's victory was something to be happy about. "The Ajax player will be happy with it, because a new record is always memorable. On the other hand: there is no power relationship anymore. When Lineker notices this, he will also think: what kind of competition is that?", Says Borst. "That is certainly the case," agreed Ronald de Boer. "The term 'Mickey Mouse competition' comes up again. It is not a positive signal to foreign countries. Malicious pleasure is always fun, but if you start thinking ..."
