Hi All

I just wanted to let you all know that I have been asked by a large number of fans to hold a fans forum to allow greater transparency, openness and to talk about my first six months as Chairman.

It will be on Tuesday 19/12/17 @ 18:45pm at The Grove Social Club.

I will be putting some cobs and nibbles on and putting £200 behind the bar so fans get have a drink on me.

I would encourage you all to come along as we need everyone’s support to take our Club forward and myself and the Committee can’t do it on our own. Your opinions matter and I will answer as many questions as I can.

I look forward to seeing you on Tuesday and thanks for taking the time to read this message.

Kind regards
Karen

Seems a really good idea (and free beer!).

Looking forward to hearing what gets discussed

Great to see such a positive move being made by Karen. Very generous too by the sound of it.

Fantastic gesture.

But for me personally I have so much apathy towards the club right now. Unless the question is ‘when will Steve be gone’ and you have the answer of ‘tomorrow’ then I fail to see what can be achieved short term.

Once again, fantastic offer. Hopefully more fans share more optimism than myself.

Came along to the fans forum tonight and must admit was very glad to say I did so, was very impressed by Karen with her openness and honesty as much as she could in the overall situation of what has been a very uneasy season so far.

However, amongst all the going’s on there does sound a positive future providing we can become a ‘Lynch Free’ Halesowen Town FC and I have every confidence that with Karen at the forefront of this going forward I believe this can happen and we hopefully can move forward.

At the worst possible scenario it seems that there will still be a football club in Halesowen, albeit not in the same format or league as we know, but fingers crossed it may not come to this.

One thing I will say from tonight is that we have all had our opinions, information or hearsay from goings on within the club the past year or so and this has caused a divide or a boycott of many previous regulars from attending however I think now regardless of what is going on the pitch and your opinion of the management team (mine included) is now the least of our worries.

What became clear from tonight’s forum and is paramount between now and the end of the season is if you have any ounce of love for this club - whether it be a new, long term, old or young fan - is getting down to the Grove whenever you have the chance if you are not a regular (again me included) and let’s all come together and support the club as we all know it regardless of what you see on the pitch or for certain people and let’s fight - for the love of the club!

This club needs whatever fans it has left and it needs to survive in its current format - so please, do your bit!

It’s going to take more than the promise of things will eventually improve to get many fans back. I fear the damage in that regard is irreversible.

In days gone by I’d have not missed a game. Now I have other commitments and if I’m honest better things I enjoy on a Saturday.

Becoming ‘Lynch free’ is only the start. It would help, but it’s not the only problem, is it?

My love for this club has well and truly been drained by a handful of people. I’m completely apathetic towards the whole thing.

Excellent to see so many people give up their time to hear what Karen and of course Colin had to say. Those there will surely have failed to come away knowing that potentially this is our best hope now. Upsetting though it was to see it was obvious to everyone there how much the whole club means to Colin. As long as they are willing to keep us going with some hope then I really want them to get the support they deserve.
We've still got a chance of staying at this level so lets not throw that away without a fight both on and off the field

Can I just say my pessimism isn’t aimed or intended to be against Colin and Karen.

Colin is an absolute gentleman and it’s clear his passion for the Yeltz is unrivalled. I’ve heard about Karen and the time, effort and resources she’s put in since becoming chairwoman, and it is brilliant to see and a refreshing change to the negative noises we’re used to hearing from the club.

If anyone can restore this club back to something resembling a proud and successful club it’s Colin and Karen.

Those two have my full support. Hopefully I can support my club with pride rather than embarrassment under their stewardship.

Any chance of a précis of what was said?

I could cut and paste the WhatApps that HH sent me but I think we both probably end up in jail...
