After being knocked out of the Trophy at Grantham, Poll asked if we'd ever before lost the first match in every cup we entered?
In 1970/71 we lost to Sutton in BSC, Hednesford in League Cup, Bromsgrove in FAC, Kidderminster in WSC & Cinderford in FAT. The following season 1971/72 was similar except our FAC exit was after a replay.
Last Saturday I listened into Black Country Radio for 20 minutes and found myself agreeing with the studio presenter when he said that, as a football fan, he'd always want his side to win any match in a cup competition. It can be a long time from end October to end April without cup diversion.
Still Santa will soon be making his annual appearance to bring diversion and cheer. He will i am sure ....
