Should I stay or should I go?

A Clash classic no doubt, but a real thought for me now. After a fair chat with THE honourable stalwart of our club yesterday I saw a man that sounded broken. It was something I never thought I would see at Halesowen Town. I'm just sick and tired also of having a go at people who I don't even know for the way they are ruining our club. For all I know they are decent people but being a football fan it brings out the devil in me. There is absolutely no pleasure in going at all aside from meeting up with other good folk on the terraces and to be honest it's the only reason I go now. I long for the 'old' club back but am now resigned to the fact it will never happen. I am very close to joining the hoardes of others who will not attend while the set up is as it is. I fear though it would be some time before I could return. A gut wrenching dilemma.

There won't be a club for much longer the way things are headed.
I've chosen to return as I value time with good people more than staying away making a pointless protest.
We all know it won't change and we all know how it's going to end. I'm sick and tired of seeing this great club dragged through the mud, by people who simply do not care about the club and it's long and valued history.
We in reality have never recovered from the last folks (Ingram and M**s*n) who destroyed the club. This latest mess is a mess too far to recover from, sadly.

I feel your pain, Andy. I've nowhere near the years of support that you have behind you but, nonetheless, it hurts and angers me just as much as your good self.
The football (?) is immaterial to me now, i just enjoy the banter and a few pre-match cocktails with good friends.
There was a curse, many years ago, at a certain address in B9 and the ancient Romany that delivered it has transferred their evil powers to The Grove B63 it would seem!
Fate seems to have made sure that whoever is custodian of HTFC will be of shady character and devoid of any love for - or interest - in our club.
I just wonder what it is that the present owner sees as advantageous in clinging to a sinking ship - because make no bones about it we are destined to disappear without trace.
There is more chance of North Korea's Rocketman getting a Trump invitation to spend Thanksgiving in The White House than a clarification statement being forthcoming from "they/she/he or whoever has control."
Shameful!

I've seen one competitive game all season, mainly for family reasons but part despair, seeing Witton dismantle us told me everything. I won't knock volunteers, they do the stuff I could never find time for and it's not their fault that their predecessors were so stupidly pushed out, and we may well have the nicest p!tch and ground of any NPL relegated team, but everything else about HTFC feels rotten to the core.

I don't really feel it as a protest Josh, I just don't want to put MYSELF through it anymore. It's not right leaving a football game feeling anger towards your own club and seeing good people suffering.

I find it hard to see why anyone would want to run a football club as the rewards are very little. The problem is everyone wants to watch a winning team playing attractive football and unfortunately this takes money. The game has changed and at any level the successful teams have big budget's. Steve Lynch has done well to keep the club in this division in my opinion. The club has to be run as a business and can't spend anymore than what's coming in. It really is a catch 22 situation. This club had great success due to the FA Vase and unless something like that happens again or a rich benefactor comes along I can't see how things are going to change.

No, successful teams don't always have the biggest budgets and no, nobody is expecting Halesowen Town to play pretty football.
There are teams up and down the country, at all levels that are competing with teams that have bigger budgets than them. It comes down to good or competent management. Neither of which we have had for a very long time. All people want is a club they can be proud of, and it's impossible to be at the moment

I'm pleased to agree, for once, with your views.

There is a lot of talk about what Steve Lynch is getting from doing this to the club. But also, what pleasure can there be in it for John Hill and Matt Clarke? They are being humiliated now week in, week out and nobody (barring possibly one or two) wants them there anymore. Presumably JH enjoys football management, so you'd have thought he would resign for his own sake and reputation. By not doing so, surely he is harming his future opportunities after he eventually does leave the Grove. From his point of view, staying, now makes absolutely no sense.
