Lost for words.

Post by Simmo » 02 Sep 2017, 23:03

Not been for years due to being able to see through the crap being spouted by the club's so called custodians but love this club with a passion.Met some amazing people both within the club and without but cannot for the life of me see where we go from here with the current management set up.

We go down.

We continue to lose fans.

Beyond that, it's not worth thinking about.

Hi all, I wanted to post on behalf of the players. John and Matt have taken a lot of stick on here, but at the end of the day we as players are turning in the performances and making individual errors that are costing us games.

You as fans have every right to be angry about what you have seen so far and we should be shouldering the blame alongside the management. We will be turning up on Tuesday determined to get something from the game and turn this season around. Thank you for your support. Asa

Asa, good of you to post. As our best player every year by a mile since your return you have nothing to answer to in my opinion. Unfortunately many of those playing alongside you during that period have a lot to answer for. Even those that have been good enough seem to us pundits to be given no direction, no system to play to, and ultimately look disillusioned. This can only be put at the door of the management team. The revolving door of players suggests that the wrong players are brought in in the first place or the players then do not want to be here. Again that can only lie at the managements door. The football itself to us fans is very unattractive and does not have the upside of getting us results. If as you say it is the players who need to look at themselves, then the management should not have let the said players 'get away' with such poor performances over such a long period of time. I feel the likes of yourself, Platty and at times one or two others, have papered over the cracks for the manager and kept us afloat. This simply cant go on any longer.
I respect you for coming on here and trying to deflect some of the flak from JH and MC but weve seen enough now. I wish them both well, thank them for the good times and the enormous amount of work they have put in, but now its time to give someone else a try.

I'll echo what Andy said in his excellent post.

Out of all our current players, your name is right at the very bottom of the list of those who should shoulder some blame.

I do believe we have some talented players. For whatever reason, we are not seeing positive performance from the team. I may be wrong, but for me the squad as a whole looks like they don't want to play for John Hill.

That's at least the impression that's given.

It's good to hear a players perspective, as always.

A great response from a player who is, undoubtedly, the player who epitomises loyalty and effort.
Maybe, on Tuesday night, we should forget for 90 minutes the previous games and give the team total support in their endeavour to put things right.
I have my own opinion of the present management duo, but I have always thought that the players selected play to the best of their ability.
Things can only get better - can't they?

I agree that Asa should take no blame. He has been outstanding. But why are things going to get better? Certainly not under the present regime which seems intent on alienating those supporters who remain and dare to criticise.

I'm filled with dread from Asa's post as it indicates that the management duo are staying put, and I'd actually been silently awaiting an announcement of some sort in the last 24 hours. I've supported John Hill through all previous criticism, but the situation now is completely unresolvable. In fact, it's ridiculous.

Whilst there's no doubt whatsoever that he's lost the support of the terraces, I'd also argue he's lost the dressing room as well. The players look bereft of confidence and were blaming one another second half. Bragoli volunteered himself for another early bath, sadly denied by the ref. Chilton's shirt went into the dugout after being subbed and he disappeared down the tunnel (and I guarantee he won't be picked on Tuesday as a result). The players went off thinking "well, at least we get a change of manager tonight". But no, it seems not.

So, who is making the decisions here? Was Karen there yesterday and can she fail to see what's going on? Or is it still our banned owner who's calling the shots?

We're three days into September and this season is already dead. The last twenty minutes of Saturday was spent checking Stafford's twitter, hoping for a draw. The best we can wish for now is a quick change, a solid appointment, and an opportunity to clear the decks to rebuild something from scratch. It's time for change.

Piearce, it seems like you have changed your tune since you posted yesterday and had a go at others on this forum. I agree with everything you say tonight.

To be fair to piearce9 he hasn't changed his opinion. He was defending the subtle approaches of others from what I read ;)
