RIP Ben Morse

Some of you may have seen in the news over the last few days about the hit and run incident not far from the Grove on cherry street in the early hours of Monday. The guy tragically killed was Halesowen lad Ben Morse someone I knew well and spent many hours playing with and against over the years.
He was good mates with my brother so I saw a lot of him in his late teens early twenty’s. He was one of my players when I ran a 5 a side team, I also played against him a fair few times over the years on a Sunday morning in fact I played against him recently as he played for Netherton in the Warley league.
Morsey was a great lad, loved his football and his beer. You would often find him in his Arsenal shirt watching the football in pubs like the Whitley and Hawne Tavern. He was always approachable and loved to talk football he attended some Yeltz games and whenever we saw each other we would have our ‘Yeltz chats’!
My thoughts are with his family. Our loss is havens gain.
