Away Travel - Blyth Spartans
Posted: 05 Nov 2016, 19:39
May I start this one by saying that from an club's point of view there will be no coach to Blyth Spartans on Saturday, due, in the main to the players travelling up on Friday afternoon / evening and staying overnight.
At this point i'll remove my hat that points towards me being anything 'official' to do with the club.
During the game today there was an announcement that anyone wishing to travel to Blyth should come and see me, where this came from I have no idea as I do not arrange away travel.
Me, along with a few others had decided we wanted to go to the game irrespective of whether there was a coach or not, so, instead of 3 or 4 people driving in different cars decided to look at the option of hiring a self drive mini bus for the journey as there is sufficient of us to make this worth while.
This is being organised totally independent from the club, with no input from the club, no involvement by the club and certainly no financial help from the club.
I've heard comment this afternoon that ''us who've been here 5 minutes are stopping those who have gone for years from going'' how???
A few people have booked a mini bus to go to an away game, is that wrong?, i'm not sure if people have had that spun to them a little differently, but that's all it is.
Sorry to have gone on about a fairly trivial topic, but I felt this was a decent platform to let people know.
Thank you.
