this is taken from the above:-

The club, or rather it's officers, are too busy setting up another company...

Seemingly while they're too busy to file the clubs accounts...

Reading their forum, it's clear the club is a mess.

It's also clear they're expecting an injection of cash from a sale of one of their ex players - which will be used to clear outstanding debts (the apparent reason for their suspension). As a result I'd be surprised if the league actually carried out this suspension and kicked them out the league for good.

Although the proceeds from the pending sale of an ex player will provide relief, surely that's a short term solution. Clearly the club is losing a lot of money, so could they be in a similar position weeks / months down the line?

My question would be; why aren't issues like this sorted before the leagues are drawn up? A financial mess just doesn't happen over night! The league must have been aware of the struggles previously? Seems odd to act now, hours before the start of the season!

Finally, didn't Ilkeston sell two seasons worth of season tickets for the price of one? Not a great strategy for making money to sustain the club...

Interesting developments.

Also interesting to note that Sutton and Romulus have been kicked out of Coles Lane (allegedly).

Not allegedly. Neither can play there until the undulations in the pitch are levelled out to FIFA requirements. They hope it will be done soon, but their first game is being played at Eastwood and Romulus have reversed their first home fixture.

Does anyone know of any other clubs in the league in a similar position to Ilkeston? Maybe some others have been gazetted too?

If several more get 'gazetted', in fact everyone else, except us, we'll have won this league by Christmas :)

Sorry, but that's the phrase that needs using at this time of year!

It doesn't look at all like they're going to survive this, especially as the league convene for a meeting next week to discuss failing to fulfil fixtures and possible turfing them out (reading that link on the previous post). We had an awful time of administration back in 2009, but we somehow managed to get through that (although some might say it wasn't pretty!). Ilkeston have had it happen twice in just under the same period of time and you have to wonder if they'll be able to come back a third time. I guess this is the issue when one party / group of people get heavily involved financially and it goes tits up. Here's hoping they pull something out of the fire and that it never happens to us again.............

I've swallowed a pessimist pill again Doc...............

I'm worse than relegation Pete............ ;)

You probably know more than I do, HH, but I thought they might get a reprieve. A lot appeared to depend on the sale of Che Adams, who has now moved to the Blues after quite a lot of courting (a good signing for them too), and they'll get 20% of the undisclosed fee. I guess they spent their inheritance before it arrived?

I''ve mixed feelings about Ilson. I don't really like their supporters much, but their set up seemed neat and they appeared to have some good ideas. I think I'd rather they stuck around though, never a good thing to see clubs struggling.
