John Hill is totally right about the abuse of the players. It's disgusting and unacceptable. But it is also disgusting when people shout abuse at referees and the opposition players at the Grove. I have been extremely disappointed when I have mentioned it in the past that nobody seems to bother too much about that. People are quite rightly upset at what was said on Saturday, there is no place at all for it, but a few of the same fans who are upset should also see that their behaviour towards others could be improved also

I can't disagree with this. Players, coaches and officials have to put up with a lot in the way of personal abuse, and they shouldn't have to.

If fans boo, or express general dissatisfaction about performances, that is one thing.

However, it's no use being self-righteous and sanctimonious about fans' abuse to our players, yet handing out the equivalent abuse to players from the opposition or the officials under the guise of banter.

Its one of the highlights of the season for me when Owen has a 'falling out' with the oppositions bench. ;)
