Next Season

Post by rubens » 13 Jun 2015, 19:35

I've questioned JH tactics and selections on many occasions as many a football fan is entitled to. However any manager that gets a team promoted on a limited budget, then gets them to mid table in the second season must be good at his job.
I don't know JH but I'm sure he was looking forward to the coming season to build on the work he and his backroom staff have done previously.
However, with the loss of Ben (on his day the best striker outside the football league imo), Forde (not everybody's cup of tea, but he can play at a much higher level), and Tilt (easily one of the best defenders in this league), JH has to start to rebuild.
I'm not sure if it's correct to post this as its only rumours but at least two other Halesowen players were contacted by a local team but refused their offer to play for them.
I for one am looking forward to next season and my prediction is top six.

I'm looking forward to it too. I think it'll be a tougher year this year if I'm honest, Stour will be stronger I feel, Salford will spend and you've got Darlington who are well supported. Add to this Workington who'll be there or thereabouts, Blyth's FA Cup money and strong teams like Ilkeston, Ashton and Buxton anywhere near the play offs will be very good progress made.
I'm sure JH has it all in hand and it's nice to see some players coming in with experience of a higher level of football as well as young players with something to prove. A few folk on social media are commenting about signing players from lower levels, yet seem to forget that Green, Haseley, Tilt, and Tonks joined us from clubs lower down the ladder and they played what 400+ games for the club without ever looking out of place.
rubens - you said that you don't know JH, maybe you should stay behind one of the games and have a chat with him, he's very open, very honest and very approachable and will talk you through some of his thought processes.
