John Hill Statement

After having a message from one of my players saying some supporters are blaming the substitutions for today's draw.I thought I would share a few things with them...

At half time Aaron Forde informed me that the referee had warned him on his tackles and forde felt he would be sent off as he was already on a yellow card. He asked.. if possible get me off if you can. At 3 -1 up forde was subbed.

Sub no.2. Tom Tonks..Tom Tonks is on 9 bookings and if he was to pick up his 10th booking today he would serve a 2 Match ban which would be blyth away and Stourbr*dge at home...With 15 mins left and 3 -1 up it was deemed the best time to get him off so he did nt miss both bank holiday weekend games.especially Stourbr*dge.

Nothing is done without some thought going into it and sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.
Believe me nobody is more disappointed than me and my staff.

John

Well stated John, like the hundreds of fans that follow this mighty club... Halesowen Tow FC.
I have absolute confidence in your decisions, along with Trevor, Kevin and the rest of the staff.

At the end of the day John, you are the" Gaffer", in you I will follow and trust to lead this club.

Regards Mel Pople ;) ;) ;)

John Hill knows his players and far more about the game than any of us and his judgement I trust implicitly.
Today didnt go our way and our results haven't been great of late but ask a Belper supporter if they'd like to swap places...

Absolutely agree. I think expectations were raised when we were close to reaching the play offs. We will have learned a lot this season. Look at John's record with the Yeltz. Have faith this manager he knows what he's doing

Fans do have opinions and say things which they think. The players and the gaffa need to understand it is not meant to be offensive or maybe even a cristism. It was not me as not there today.

This management and team have and are doing a great job for the club. I am gutted to have had to miss 3 games and will have gone over 3,000 miles to support them this season. Win,lose or draw.

Thanks to them all. See you all at Belper.

I do think when you're two goals up, at home, with 15 minutes left and against a struggling side you should see the game out. We failed to do so and rightly or wrongly substitutions that were made when we were in the lead will get analysed and picked apart. It's the nature of the beast.

For what it's worth I understand the changes. Like I say, we were 3-1 up with a short time to play. In a game where there isn't anything on the line for us...If you can't throw in a new signing then, then when can you?

No blame should be attached to the management for today.

We have had a fantastic season and people need to have a reality check. We are mid table and in no danger of going down.

That is a great achievement in itself.

You will always get one or two idiots who expect the world but the majority are fully behind John Hill and the players and appreciate the top job the management are doing. The players too.

Totally agree with Raiden on this one. Look at Belper, they were a very strong side last season (especially when they came to our place) but now they're stone cold bottom. That could have been us but our management and players have got us into a situation now where relegation is really far out of the question and we are now a sturdy mid tabled side. For a newly promoted side going into a league which we've never been in before, I think to be where we are is amazing.

In JH we trust.

I also agree with Raiden particularly now the reasons have been explained they make sense to me.

I do wish John wouldn't feel the need to come out with these statements. This happened earlier in the season when one or two comments were made on here about tactics, even though the vast majority of people were saying otherwise. I wasn't at the game yesterday but friends who went didn't say anything about substitutions. When you look at everything the gaffer has done for the club, much of which is based on his incredible decision making abilities, then you soon realise that this isn't a big deal.

Couldn't agree more with this.
It's great to hear the gaffer explain things but it is certainly not his obligation
