The pitch

Now that the quality of the playing surface has been raised in other threads, isn't it time that whoever is responsible for allocating what money is available, could explain why it has been allowed to fall into such a poor state. There are increasing numbers of fans who express their concerns regarding this issue.
It was patently obvious from the start of the season that pitch maintenance was very much an afterthought and poor quality materials were used in what little was done.
This is no criticism of the "muscle" that devoted time and effort during the summer. Physical effort alone won't bring the pitch up to an acceptable level if the correct horticultural procedures are ignored.
I think it's time for some clarity as to where the priorities lie.

I would like to add that we must have additional income from last season (in addition to increase overheads).
The Admission has increased by 25% and the cash takings in the Grove bar will have surely increased and added to the clubs income for this season - are we above the VAT limit for registration yet?
so I ask why so little spent on the pitch in recent months?
If you want good facilities you have to speculate to accumulate normally do you not?

Putting some money into doing the toilets would be a start, never mind the pitch!

We've received money for the toilets. So I understand.

I heard the sponsors paid for the materials but the job was never done.

Couple of days away from the Barwell game and I know the temperature is forecast to rise, but with the overnight and late afternoon frosts we've been having I'd say we'll struggle to get the game on.

To be honest I don't want the game to be on. Far too many games and I think we'd be better off postponing it to give the lads a rest.
